Bobby Roode showed some promise, with his Ric Flair style gimmick and with the right push he could've been the future of pro wrestling for the next 10-15 years. It's no secret that Bobby Roode's main roster time has been forgettable, but now he's pretty much been buried for good by Bret Hart:

Pretty solid match but Roode tapping out at the end is basically the final nail in the coffin for his WWE career...

who the hell would have ever wanted Roode on top for the next 10-15 years  whether at his current age of 41, or even if he were 25 lol

I like heel Bobby and would like to see that for awhile. Face Bobby is the worst.

Bobby should've always been a heel. If he was booked right he could've been huge as a heel. He's got the look and physique and he's quite good on the mic as a heel. Plus if they booked him as a womanizing alpha male like Ric and Rick before him, Bobby could've made it work. Obviously the PG era is a problem in a situation like this and needs to go...

WWE was PG television back when Rude and Flair first debuted in the late 80's and early 90s. Also, Smackdown has always been rated PG since it's inception. PG isn't holding anything or anyone back.

Dude it's totally holding people back. The PG back in the day was way more edgy than the PG of today. Try listening to one of those Flair promos. No way they would allow anybody to cut promos like that anymore. And just look at how upset some people got when Jinder made a little unfunny joke about that asian guy a few months back. There was a lot of talk about if it was racist or not. That would've never happened back in the good old days of "PG".
