Boedker on TV postgame interview:
- patience, it was a playoff game, they were obviously fighting for their playoff life, we [sic] still fighting for us to stay in 2nd and keep up in Vegas, it was a good win for us, Jonesy played well
- [on his goal] we've been struggling a little bit on the power play so we've been talking about keeping it simple, I think we managed to do that, we finally got set up in their zone, Donskoi made a good play and I got some good wood on it and it went post and in so definitely felt good
- [on importance of winning at home] it's massive, fans always show up for us so we'd better show up for them and make sure we play good hockey for 'em
DeMelo on radio postgame interview:
- [wagering w/ Dillon on points race w/ each other?] no, maybe we should start it, I kinda caught up the last couple games, for us were are happy for each other whoever gets the points, usually we're kinda getting points together and going D to D and stuff like that, I think it starts with us in our D zone and we're doing the right things in the offensive zone and it's starting to pay off for us
- [on the defensive game tonight] it was everybody, it wasn't just the defense or Jonesy coming up big with shots, I think we did a great job back-pressuring and forcing them to dump a lot of pucks
- [on the goal] it was kind of a broken play, they ended up getting the puck, I just kept it in with my hand and tried to make a play to the middle, and then it kinda went to the other side of the ice, we did a great job of hounding it and outmanning them and we got the puck back to me, I threw it over to Banc-er who got a shot and then Donny kinda got the puck and rolled up, I passed it back to him, and then he made a great little play to Boeds, that's a tough shot to take and he picked the corner pretty good on the blocker side, it was obviously a huge goal, we just stayed patient and waited for opportunities and made the most of it
- [on finally scoring on the PP] it's huge, we feel although we're the 2nd unit, we got some skill out there, it's obviously discouraging when you're making plays and they're not going in, I think it's great character we have to stay with it, not force it, just take what the other team gives us and try to exploit that
- [on the next game vs the Capitals] obviously it's a ton of skill with Kusnetsov, Backstrom, Ovechkin, he likes to find the soft ice - a lot like Panarin the other night against Columbus - he's got a world-class shot, it's gonna be a 5-man unit whoever's out there, it's about back-pressuring, time and space, make them uncomfortable and do things they don't wanna do, it'll be a great test
