Pretty fishy it's happening while we are having rumors of Hayes coming to STL. Scandella for Hayes at 50%?

Interesting. He will still be RFA at the expiration of this contract, but arbitration eligible.

Pretty much what I figured he’d get - another 1 year prove it contract for league minimum.

He absolutely has the ability to be a 3rd pairing PP specialist. Just needs to stay healthy. Will be rooting for him.

I hope we get an extended look at him this year with some PP1 time. If he’s going to provide value to the team, it’s going to be by producing/facilitating production on the PP. He’ll be 25 when the season starts and we really still don’t have a clue what kind of NHLer he’ll be. I still have pretty high hopes though(40ish points with passable defense if he’s the PPQB).

I assume Perunovich factors heavily in the plan to move Krug for Sanheim. We'd have 2 pairs that could get 22-24 minutes apiece. So the 3rd pair would only need 12-16 minutes and PP time would factor heavily in that for Perunovich.
