The Montreal Gazette had a poll in 1984 about Montreal's all-time team and the results were:

Blake as coach of course. Bowman could be his assistant.

Gainey-Beliveau-MRichard
Robinson-Harvey
Plante

So, starting from there, I'd go with:

Gainey-Beliveau-MRichard
Shutt-Morenz-Lafleur
Moore-HRichard-Geoffrion
Joliat-Lach-Lalonde

Robinson-Harvey
Savard-Lapointe
Markov-Chelios

Roy
Durnan
Plante
Dryden

Hard to choose between Selke and Pollack. I'll go with Pollack because he had a chance to adapt to the draft, and we don't know how Selke would have done, but probably well since they both listened to their people. But Pollack was aggressive and swung some deals Selke might have been too conservative to try.

I would definately have put Chelios on my team over Johnson, but I figured he belonged to Chicago where he'd make a great pairing with Pierre Pilote. Joliat over Cournoyer is a good pick though.

Thank you for your invaluable input.
I've generated a free roster, with your input, that you can use if you have the video game NHL 06 by EA Sports.

Chambers must have played more games with the Stars than NJ. Also, wasn't Verbeek's most games with the Devs. I think it was 7 in Jersey, 5 1/2 in HFD.
