Who are the best players outside of the current NHL. I'm not seeking potential best players (Ovechkin, Crosby etc), I'm seeking CURRENT best players. THX

tough question, guess it could be one of the following:

Espen Knutsen
Oleg Tverdovsky
Jörgen Jönsson
Maxim Suchinsky
Ville Peltonen
Fredrik Norrena
Jere Karalahti
Josef Beranek
Henrik Lundqvist

EDIT: Christian Dubé, Mike Maneluk, Petteri Nummelin, Jean-Guy Trudel are also worth mentioning, all played in the NLA this season.

Kahnberg and Moyzakin come to mind as they racked up the points in their respective leagues (Moyzakin was leading the RSL in scoring until his injury) While not the best, they produced near the top of the league in scoring and are in their low 20's (24-23)

I must say Fredrik Norrena, what he did for Linköping in the SEL this season is truly amazing. Best goalie outside the NHL without a doubt.

I gave it some time, but I'm sorry, it had to be said.

Dustin Rose puts all hockey playing entities to shame.

Jiri Dopita   :lol

I know you aren't serious, but Dopita is still a great European player

however, ex-Canuck Josef Beranek takes the cake...he absolutely slaughted the Czech Extraleague this year and played a great 2-way game.

From Czechia:
F - Josef Beranek
D - Jan Hejda
G - Roman Malek

Heh, i am the Proud owner of a semi-pro Oilers jersey with Beranek #20, Which i bought at a hockey game years ago. After many a Skyreach beer, it seemed like a good idea at the time, seeing as he was 2nd in team scoring that year, behind Guerin(Weight had gone down with that hip injury i believe that season?? :dunno: ).
