Trevor Linden was pretty decent

The first two names who came to mind were Henri Richard and Bobby Clarke (both had their numbers retired).

I believe Marcel Dionne and Michel Goulet also had their number 16's retired.

May not be "the best" but Michel Goulet was pretty close to the top of the list.

Followed by Henri Richard and then Dionne/Brett Hull.

Yeah, the players that came to mind for me were LaFontaine, Linden and Hull, those would be the best players that I've been around to watch. Any more obscure dark horses that may have been overlooked?
