Goes to show you can't put too much stock in junior stats. Siemens and Elliott were a top-notch WHL pair and neither can cut it even remotely at the NHL level. It's disappointing because we could've slaughtered the EJ-Shattenkirk trade instead of just winning it.
That's why I think it's important to watch them and also get an understanding of how and where their stats are coming from. I like goals as a stat a lot more from junior defensemen than points. Just stat grazing the boxscore leaves a lot to be desired but what they do in junior isn't meaningless either.
