Missed the last 10 minutes--what happened with Lowry and Dillon near the end.
Video link to the injury, anyone?
Couldn't really tell from the replay they showed, Dillon was on the ice wrapped up with a player and his hand was gushing blood everywhere. Not really sure how it happened. Lowry got a few licks in on someone and was sent off.

I fully believe in the butterfly effect and it happened this game. Every year there always has to be at least one dead weight player the Jets keep playing no matter what that add very little to the team.

Stuart
Hainsey
Wheeler
Etc...

Now it's Appleton. They all share the same traits and are the direct result of outcomes like this. Bad passes, losing puck battles, weak offence, bad penalties, etc...Like the above, he is not an NHL player. You cannot have players like this on your team and expect to win. They make a difference as they kill momentum and cause chaos. You can put anyone else with Lowry and they'd do better than him.

we won the expected goal battle!
Yes!!!
Just to clarify the ref complaints: Apples didn't blooper his way into an embarrassing trip, and Vilardi didn't high stick someone in the face? Because those two penalties cost us the lead and the game.

Can bitch about the refs all you want, but when you have the 21st ranked PK going up against the 5th ranked PP... it's not going to be a good outcome.

How hard is it to win a playoff game knowing you can't take a single penalty because it's going to end up in your net. NO ONE should be surprised by this as people were complaining about the PK all season.

they had as many 5v5 shots as we did this game, we had 14 high danger chances to their 6 and led 31-21 in scoring chances overall 5on5

Yeah its the PPs that won this game. Refs gifted everything they could and let about 6 blatant calls go on the Avs.

As soon as we went up by a goal it was obvious they couldn't have that. This league is a joke. We already know they game manage. If you can't beat the refs you can't win.

.872 is bad, if they lost 6-2 and Helly was over .905 I would say differently, he’s been sub .900 all series, not exactly Vezina level!

No but losing 3-2 and playing that way or 5-2 still is a loss. The goaltending is a problem, sure, but even if he's back to his usual level this team is going nowhere playing the way they have been.
