I think it's also extremely important to point out that a goalie is on an island. If your 1st line C gets shut down, there are 3 more behind him to help pick up the slack potentially. If your G has a bad game, that likely means your team is toast. There's no taking back bad goals and replacing a struggling netminder might give the team a jolt but at that point you're probably down 3 or 4 goals.

Agreed.Anyway, this discussion has been dragged out long enough. As it turns out, I actually like the teams with weak goalies this year.

Thought about taking a coach of third line center here but The Amarillo Bulls will select the smooth skating defenseman from Dearborn, Michigan --- #28 Brian Rafalski!

Just making sure. If a GM picks somebody already taken, can the next person (me) pick? I thought I remembered that being a rule, but didn't participate last year. Just want to be certain.

That’s how I would assume it works, considering Hoglund technically made a pick and then likely sent you a PM telling you that you’re up. The fact that it was a player already chosen just means he’ll have to make up that pick - similar to a missed one - any time he wishes.

Again, that’s just how I assume it would work.

We'll we'll go after a stout defensive defensemen who has a pretty strong AS and Norris record for this part of the draft, especially considering he wasn't an offensive player. Incredible PK resume and another player who logged heavy ES minutes and has numbers that show he was quite effective at preventing scoring at ES.

The Pittsburgh Bankers are thrilled to add:

Jim Schoenfeld, D

So what is it you guys want out of bios (for old players)? I'm asking, because I'm not sure what to include in them anymore. For example, I thought I'd include every play from game descriptions dated chronologically, so people could quickly read all those and get a cumulative "feel" for how the player played. But do people really want this or not?

By reading the game summaries/descriptions, I absorb this "feel" and this knowledge for myself, so if I'm transcripting it it's for other people, so I thought why not ask them whether they even want such a thing before spending hours working on the transcription.

The more general quotes will always be included in the bios, but I'll separate them from the descriptions.

The benefit of play descriptions is not in any isolated description, but in the "feel" you get by reading them all, unless the isolated description is referring to something more general and constant about the player's game. But maybe no one cares. If so, I won't waste my energy.

Sent to Iceman. It’s a two man list. If one of them is taken, skip me and I’ll make it tonight.
