Bump to make sure everyone sees this.

Surprising that 4 of the top 10 and 5 of the top 11 vote getters have been eliminated.

Orr and Gretzky had the largest gaps between them and the 2nd place vote getter for their series (40 pts.)

Good idea, No Oilers (pout) but nice to know they were able to knock out Bobby Orr.

Bob Gainey will be there at the end though, count on it.......;)

4 of the top 10 star vote getters were on losing teams. Goes to show that decisions are being made based on team play as a whole rather than one or two players. That's a good thing. On the main board many posters would go: "Orr! His team would win." without much thought about the rest of the line-up and how they'd work together, special teams, coaching, etcetera. Even Gretzky has failed to make the playoffs a few times, and certainly has been bounced in the playoffs even when on good teams.

Two questions:

1) Does this system penalize players from the teams that received a first-round bye?

2) When it gets to the Final, I wonderif we will be basing our 3 Stars votes on who we think would be best in the series, or giving them to a particular player because he has a better chance to finish first based on the standings?

3 stars should be given to those that you think will be the top players in each particular series. In all likihood the Conn Smythe winner will come from the team that wins the title, so the qst roudn bye shouldn't matter too much.
