At 5 foot 3, Luke Korte trying to break some ice hockey "norms"

Luke Korte is playing in the WHL for the Blazers and living his dream as a hockey player
and isn't letting no sayers making him stop playing hockey.
- well at least trying again, to get a spot from the team
last season he got 4 games (1 goal)


But being 5 foot 3 / 130 lbs hockey player isn't easy.
- well it isn't easy in generally speaking to begin with

He was drafted 52nd overall in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft
been playing high level of hockey so far; WHL, WSI, John Reid, CSSHL, SAAHL...
- so already he has had to work extra hard to get to where he is at.

To become a pro... so much more, to even become a regular major junior player,
if he achieves that, achievement already.


Times are different, more and more shorter players, less physical players
are getting serious foothold from the pro circles all the way to the top, to NHL.
but 5 foot 3? tough times for him for sure, but i bet he has heard so many
coach say to him that he is just too small..

Time will tell how his career pans out, but i surely will be rooting for him!

How old is he? There should be growing left. NHL draftees routine grow a couple inches. Hell David Robinson famously grew a foot in the Naval Academy. And if anything it'd be the 130lbs that gets him. I have doubts Gerbe was much if any taller than 5'3" But he was stocky.

A short player has much better chances than a 130 pound one.

he is 17--if he was say 14/15 he might be in for a spurt but at 17 it maybe only an inch or two

Ennis would be one of the shorter lighter dudes I know of- listed at 5’9” 155 or so I believe? Incredibly skilled, but he kinda demonstrates some of the problems there and he’s got 25 pounds on this other dude.

He's certainly not short on humility.
