Gonna guess Kruger (2.3M salary) for Bolland (1.1M salary after insurance) with a small plus possibly on Carolina's side.

Bolland's money can't be unspent, so in Arizona would be getting a 4C for 1.2M, while Carolina would dump over half of Kruger's salary after he flamed out of their NHL team. Seems like a win-win situation if Arizona thinks Kruger can be their 4C.

As a Canes fan, I'm good with this. Kruger didn't work for us, maybe he can find his game in AZ.

Martinook isn't anything special, but he puts his body on people, finishes checks, and plays to the whistle. We need guys like that in our bottom-6.

Draft picks outside the top-50 or so are all lottery tickets.

Never was really know as a point getter. Contract was bad from day 1, but if you have cap space there is a player still left IMO

I think it's less about clearing space than it is paying a guy $3 million to play in the AHL.

Martinook is a solid defensive winger. Kruger was out of the league. Not an earth shattering trade but pretty curious on the part of AZ.

Kruger was only making $2.3M in actual salary next year, but you are right. It's giving Kruger a chance to play somewhere else while getting a guy in Martinook that they can use on the 4th line. Canes save only $220K after the retention and move back 23 spots in from 73--> 96.

I'm fine with this.
