It's that time again: At the risk of being buzzkills, official HF policy is that we will not be allowing April Fools joke threads or posts.
We know that it's an unpopular decision, and kinda draconian. But the unfortunate fact of the matter is that it's caused enough problems in the past that we're just not going to deal with it at all anymore. Because people get pissed off when they get taken in by the jokes. Like, really pissed off.
If you try to sucker anyone with an April Fools prank, you will be infracted. Sorry, but there's no gray area here. This is your warning. Don't do it. It's how we have to run things.
The ONLY way that April Fools posts are acceptable is if you're reporting some outside prank (like something the Sharks or the NHL does) and you make it abundantly clear in your post that it's an April Fools joke.
tl;dr:
Posting "Sharks tell Haley he's been re-assigned to Hannover of the German League (April Fools Joke)" with a link to prank in the first post= OK.
Posting "Patrick Marleau seriously injured in practice, announces he's retiring effective immediately *click* APRIL FOOLS!! LOOOOOOOL!" = No es bueno.
