Each year for the past 10-15 years we've had some sort of team/individual goal scoring guesses.

this year i'm guessing we will score about 230 goals as a team. (2.80 goals per game). (the league average was 2.72 goals per game last year). i also expect goal scoring to be up slightly this year because of an increase in pp's, especially early.

individually (for guys on opening roster) something like;
Forsberg 32 (hopefully more)
Johansson 15 (shoot more!)
Fiala 20 (big hopes here for more)

Hartnell 15 (hopefully more if he gets significant 2nd line and pp time)
Bonino 15 (nothing really to go on yet in this role)
Arvidsson 20 (if he plays on 2nd line i expect his numbers to go down)

Aberg 10 (dependent totally on his playing time)
Jarnkrok 10
Smith 15 (who lnows what we get)

Salomaki 10
Sissons 12
Watson 5 (hope for more)

Mcleod 4
..so that's around 187 from our forwards. (probably overly optomistic honestly for the group)

Josi 15
Subban 10
Ekholm 5
Ellis 5 (missing half a year)
Emelin 3 (nothing really to go on)
Irwin 3
Weber 2
Girard.. ? (if he stays he will score 5 or more replacing some of the above guy's goals)
..so that's 43 from our defensemen (hopefully an underestimate honestly which would be down 12 from last year, partly because i'm trying to account for ellis missing half the year and assuming we focus more on forwards on the pp)

-I believe Forsberg will have a career year. Hopeful for around 35-40 goals this year.
-Arvy should hit somewhere in the 20-25 range.
-Fiala though.... he's a real wild card for me. I honestly believe he'll be near the top in points, especially if he stays on the top line. So roughly 20-30 goals. I really believe in Fiala.
-Joey will probably stay in the 15-20 range.
-Hartnell at 15 sounds good to me.
-Same for Bonino. Would like 20 from him.
-Aberg might get 10-15 but I agree that it heavily relies on his ice time, also line mates.
What about Salomaki though? What if the pre-season was real for him? What do we expect there?
I expect everyone else to be the same-ish.

I never do this, so i'm certain it'll be horribly wrong but worth a look at the end of the year. I'm also ordering players in order of how I think they'll finish since I think that will be more accurate than the actual totals...

Forsberg-32
Johansen-21
Arviddson-20
Fiala-18
Bonino-17
Smith-16
Hartnell-14
Jarnkrok-12

Only one regular season game to go so figured I'd bump this one to see just how wrong I was again:

Johansen - 20 / 15
Forsberg - 41 / 23
Smith - 11 / 25
Arvidsson - 25 / 29
Bonino - 15 / 12
Jarnkrok - 14 / 16
Watson - 8 / 13
Hartnell - 15 / 13
Fiala - 25 / 23
McLeod - 1 / 1
Aberg - 10 / 2
Sissons - 8 / 9
Salomaki - 6 / 2

Forwards = 199 / 183

Subban = 17 / 16
Josi = 12 / 14
Ekholm = 5 / 10
Emelin = 1 / 1
Ellis = 6 / 9
Girard = 1 / 1
Weber = 1 / 2
Irwin = 2 / 2
Bitetto = 0 / 1

Defense = 44 / 56

199 + 44 = 243 / 183 + 56 = 239

Excluding possible Kamenev, Carrier, Gaudreau, Zolnierczyk etc call-ups.

did you figure Turris' goals in there?

Nah. Didn't do that for Hartman or Fisher either.

I think you would of been close on Forsberg if he didn't hurt and suspended. That kinda slowed his momentum

I dunno, probably, but guess we'll never know. Think he would've gotten at least 30 though if not for the injury and suspension.

Assuming he kept the same scoring pace, over a full season Forsberg would've had 75 pts this season, good for 3rd all time in franchise history behind the two years Kariya had for us.

It's absolutely crazy that 75 points in a season would be 3rd best all time for us.

Yeah I know, it's just that it seems like random dudes around the league fart out 75 point seasons randomly but we have none of them.

This is also why we have managed to avoid cap hell. We dont have some 100 point player who will command 20% of our cap.
