Chris Calnan will be going to BC starting in 2013. I don't think he's decided on where he'll play next year, but it's between Nobles highschool and the Waterloo Black Hawks and @bchockeyblog1 (no idea how credible) tweeted on the 22nd that Calnan could be headed to Waterloo but it was "100%" yet.

Jack Walker looks like he's about 6'0 now, nothing but impressed with him.

Jack Walker looked excellent at Royals camp today. Fastest skater I've seen, that's including the WHL. Problem is that he's so quick that he fumbles the puck too much because he plays at such a high end speed. Defensively it seems he wants to play with grit but he's a bit to meat and bones to be throwing hits, great with his stick and a great hockey sense in the offensive & defensive end.

1. Can anyone let me know what they think about Kenny Ryan? I've never seen him play, but as a second round pick playing in the ECHL I don't expect much. What's his playstyle?

2. I have seen lots of D'amigo on the Marlies and he was really impressive in the AHL playoffs, can anyone tell me more about him or just give any opinions?

3. Tyler Biggs, I have high hopes for this kid, I would love to see him become a Backes type player. I honestly don't see him becoming anything less then a great 3rd liner. He's got his head on straight and he's a big kid.

Anyone give honest unbiased opinions on potential, how you see these three guys ending up and possibly give them a Hockey Futures rating.

I'm certainly going to be watching him closely this year. Last year was a real disappointment so I'm hoping he can have a bounce back year. If he's in the AHL this year I hope he can step up and become a dominant scorer.

Had a chance to watch him saturday. Excellent skater, great instincts and very fiesty for his age. Hope the hawks keep him up for a few pre-season games but generally they send 15 year olds back early since they have no chance of playing this season.

Portland somehow became a WHL landing spot for american players. I know they used some ins at the LA Selects to get a lot of them into training camp a few years back. Maybe that is where its started. All I know is lots of young american kids spent the last two weeks of august in portland. Very impressed with the likes of Texeria and Ethan Price. They would be challenging for a spot if they weren't '97's

Seth Jones, Keegan Iverson, Brendan Burke, Alex Schoenborn, Paul Bittner, Dominic Turgeon, Chase DeLeo and Josh Hanson are all Americans who should easily make the team this season. Be interesting to see if this trend continues.
