Oh really, more physically dominent than
Dave "The Hammer" Schultz-Dave Hunter-Tiger Williams (The Goony Line)?

Bring it.

With Hull, Messier, Charlie and Lionel Conacher, Stewart, Seibert, Siebert, Tonelli, Cleghorn, Gadsby and Moore I don't have to fear your "goons" and I don't have to sacrifice offense or defense to play a physical game. I have at least one guy on each of my lines/pairings that wouldn't hesitate to take on one of your heavies and they don't have to fight to punish the opponents. If you played your "goons" to match my physical play I'd bury you on the scoreboard. Even my Europeans and "softies" are mostly big boys.

The New Jersey Devils are pleased to be able to round out their team with the addition of two such fine players. These rugged players give us by far the most physically dominant team.

Nah, Detroit has the most physically dominant team.

You've got some decent size and some players that will throw the body around, but when it comes time to drop the gloves to defend your stars you don't have any real heavyweights. I've got some nasties on my team that wouldn't hesitate to take liberties with your players and the fists to keep you from making them sorry.

Who cares about the most physical team.

I have the best team. Any foolish penalties and the greatest PP you've ever seen, will run up the score.

I was going to take him next

I waited on him for a good part of the draft. My team is playoff built. 2 clutch goalies and a whole line of playoff performers up top in Kurri, Lemieux, and Bossy. 3 of the best playoff players of the past 20 years.

No big man down low. You need a big man in front to knock in the rebounds and you'd be set for the powerplay.

I could put Gillies in the slot of I want, but with that line-up I would be just fine. I could also stick Jagr in the slot, remember he's bigger than Gordie Howe ever was.

Are you saying Jagr was more physically dominant than Howe. howe was quite possibly the fittest hockey player ever. he could score and he could fight like you couldn't believe.

Your bunch of softies will care when they have to crawl off the ice.

I'd say my PP is just as good as yours.

Hull - Stewart - Conacher

Kelly - Gadsby

Three forwards that led the league in goals and points and two defensemen that led all D in goals, assists and points, with a center who is one of the most dominant face-off men of all-time.

That is another area where I have the best team, face-offs. Stewart and Kennedy are two of the best and Messier and Keon are both excellent.

No just pointing out that Jagr isn't exactly slim pickings out there.

My Powerplay is not too shabby either:

Bertuzzi-Clarke-LaFleur
Robinson-Salming

I then can go with the 2-Russians for the Penalty killing:

PK1-Larionov-Krutov
PK2-Clarke-Cournoyer

Not only that but everytime the other team dumps the puck down into our zone Martin Brodeur will be right there to dump it back out just as fast as it was dumped into our Zone.

Neely-Esposito-Selanne

Orr-Lapointe

Esposito parks in front of the net(thing he does best)
Neely works the boards
Selanne is the "sniper"

I'd still give your pp the edge, but not by much.

You need a playmaker to get either Neely or Espo the puck.

Boivin, nick-named the Fireplug, captained the Bruins for 4 years. He was a tough, stay at homew defenceman whom Tim Horton believed was "The toughest blueliner to beat in a one-on-one situation."

This concludes Montreal's draft. I'll post a list of individual awards and achievements later on.

Pete Mahovlich-Elmer Lach-Ken Hodge
