Washington, DC.
^They wanted one Texas team in each league, I presume. Just about every other state with multiple teams has them split between leagues. New York, Florida, California, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri. They even try to do it with regions- Brewers/Twins, Nats/Os- the only exception I can think of is Pennsylvania, which has both the Phillies and the Pirates in the NL.

Yeah but the Rangers are still in the AL, right? Seems like it would make more sense to move somebody like the Marlins or Rockies, or put the Brewers back in the AL. Or even the Padres.

The Rangers are still indeed in the AL.

I think the Astros owner was the only one who agreed to a switch, and I guess the MLB wanted to try and build a Texas rivalry here so it was kind of a win-win for the league executives.

It was done to even things out when the Brewers were sent to the NL.

What are the Yankees doing?

I mean, I'm not complaining because I don't like them and I'm sure Girardi will find work again soon, but this makes no sense.

Well done Astros! And well done SI! :handclap:

First Big-4 title for the city of Houston since the 1995 Rockets swept Shaq/Penny and the Orlando Magic. Yes kids, once upon a time Shaq played for the Orlando Magic and he seemed primed to lead them to a title but Hakeem Olajuawon said no.

Wow, that's heartbreaking. I hate Jays but Doc was class act. Unbelievable talent. That's so sad...

Only 40 years old too. I know death has no care for age but 40's still too early.

Waited for years to begin flying since it wasn't allowed while he was an active player.

The type of plane he was in seems pretty interesting. Only about 20 in existence and earlier this year the chief developer and tester of them died in a crash while flying one.
