French talent is saturated. You had as many good french goalies in the early 2000’s as you do now in just about every position. Bit of an exaggeration but not by much.

If you cobbled together all the french guys made a 23 man roster..and put coach Gallant from Vegas behind the bench..and convinced the french players there all" misfits".....then .maybe ..lol worked for Vegas...

We've seen good teams. .where coaches could not get out of round 1 with them....
