Dude was a great coach for us, brought us within 3 games to a Stanley Cup. Brought us also 1 game away from another Finals as well. He did what we wanted. He was ONE HELL OF A COACH. Thank you AV, one of the best coaches in NYR history.

He might not be the man for a rebuild team, but he was one of the best we had in our history. Thank you AV, MOST of us true NYR fans wish you the best in your career. You will be hired in no time again to coach another NHL team.

I appreciate the memories he was a part of in the SCF year.

Beyond that...that's a no from me, dawg.

The moment I became fully cognizant of his unhealthy appreciation of Tanner Glass meant I could no longer appreciate him as a coach.

AV was good for three years, then not the right guy for the last couple. C’est la vie. I hope he evolves a bit, as the league has done. He’ll be fine. Good luck to him except for against the Rangers :)

No, two years at best. He was awful in 2015-16.

I thought he did a fantastic job in 2013-2014. Pushed all the right buttons and managed everything perfectly. That's about where my appreciation stops.

If only we could've beat LA in '14. We would've built a statue of him.

I enjoyed all the high scoring games, and he seemed like a good "offensive coach". Much more entertaining than the Torts era.

I'll be fair, he gave me 2 of my best seasons as a Rangers fan, that is amazing as far as I am concerned. His time has ended and that's fine.

We're probably gonna get a grumpy pantomime taskmaster, or a college/junior guy who's still obviously trying to figure out how to relate to pro players in a big city, or an NHL retread with a worse record than Vigneault.

Normally, I don't think a coach has a huge impact on what a group of NHL players do. That Ottawa series was such an exception that I can't be mad even though I liked the guy.

Instead he massively contributed to blowing the series. I appreciate that he perfected the art of being a clown without even needing face paint

He wasn't as bad as the previous 10 coaches/clowns.

Hands down the best Rangers coach since Mike Keenan, as far as I'm concerned. It got ugly the past few years, but it usually does. That's why things end.

AV is probably a hot candidate to coach a national team, but a new NHL team I don`t know - most have figure out his system years ago.
