Just for fun, I will name some players and you'll try to see what kind of player they will be. For example: Don't want to know if Zherdev will be a Federov kind-of-player, I want to know if Zherdev will be Federov! As good as him by his skill, size, speed etc ... I will just name a few, abviously you can't put more name if you want.

Alexander Ovechkin (WSN)
Rotislav Klesla (CLB)
Evgeny Malkin (PIT)
Alex Perezhogin (MTL)
Ryan Suter (NSH)
Zach Parise (NJ)
Shaone Morrisonn (WSN)
Cam Barker (CHI)
Josef Balej (NYR)
Pascal Leclaire (CLB)
:dunno:

----------------------------------------

I'm not a prospect expert so it will be fun see what people think of them, and other prospect. :jump: ;) :jump:

Ovechkin is the second coming of Forsberg, Malkin the second coming of Mats Sundin's attitude with Jaromir Jagr's skills,
Phil Kessel is the next Pronger

Then theres always cloning :D

Zherdev will not be Fedorov and Ovechkin will not. Fedorov had won Selke trophy twice and scored more than 100 pts. that seasons. That's my opinion.

Ovechkin - Bure. Speed, wrist shot, puckhandling skills, size and style of play look very similar.
Malkin - Lecavalier. I've noticed it about year ago, after World Cup, that Malkin reminds me Vinny in all areas of the game.

Alexander Ovechkin (WSN) - Perhaps a Pavel Bure, a larger version.
Rotislav Klesla (CLB) - know nothing about.
Evgeny Malkin (PIT) - Joe Sakic
Alex Perezhogin (MTL) - Alexander Mogilny
Ryan Suter (NSH) - Brian Leetch
Zach Parise (NJ) - Mike York, but better offensivly
Shaone Morrisonn (WSN) - Adam Foote
Cam Barker (CHI) - Barry Beck
Josef Balej (NYR) - Really unsure about him, maybe Sergei Samsonov??

Are you sure about that? It's just I remember Bossy quite well (it helps that I am 40) and while he was one of the great snipers of all time I just remember having anything close to the speed of Ovechkin.

BTW and OT, Mike Bossy is one of my favorite players of all time, I mean what a sniper! He played just ten seasons due to back problems and the first season he scored less than 50 goals was his last season.

That's amazing.

I'd just like to say Malkin will definitely not be Rick Nash. He may never score 40 goals. He will get a LOT more assists though, and maybe close to 40 goals...I agree with the Lecavalier comparison here.

I respect your opinion, but never compare again Malkin with Jean Béliveau!

I heard a draft analysis last year compare Malkin to Beliveau and thought it fit.

This entire thread is a stretch. :D I forgot about Bossy when trying to come up w/something for Ovechkin. It fits better than the Howe, Neely, or Bure IMO.

Parise has been compared to York, Fleury, Koivu and Drury.
Don't you think his style goes more on Sakic's type of player?

I do not think Parise has that same scoring Sakic does. Definitly not that wrister. And i highly doubt he will be top 15 in scoring ever. He will be like a Cluade Lemieux, Mike Ricci or Adam Deadmarsh. Your not really sure what exactly it is but their teams always seem to win. And when a big play happened they were on the ice for it.
I think he will be like Jere Leihtonen(sp). Around 40-50 points and play great D.

I really don't know why but the one player that keeps popping in my mind when I think of Parise is Butch Goring, but with maybe less of an edge but equal in character and heart.

I just think their style of play will be very similiar.

Ovechkin - the Forsberg comparison is lost on me as is Bure... I think he's very much like Fedorov, Zherdev isn't. Forsberg is this generations Gretzky (granted it's a transition period), but Ovechkin is not as great a playmaker. Bure was a scorer, Ovechkin is a scorer/playmaker/2-way forward.

Zherdev - as close to Kovalchuk as any other player can be to an NHLer.

Klesla - top 4 guy, that's it.

Malkin - scoring reminiscent of Sundin's, playmaking and game like Thornton's but potential to be better, IMO.

Perezhogin - poor man's Kovalev

Suter - his uncle, or Housley

Parise - Doug Weight with better skating or Craig Conroy with flashier offense.

Morrisonn - I like the Niinimaa comparison.

Barker - better Derian Hatcher

Balej - Radek Dvorak with better offense.
