Pulkkinen may debut in SM-Liiga JR B or maybe even A :sarcasm:

Jon Merrill is playing for the Columbus Jr. Blue Jackets of the USHL. Jon McFarland is suppossedly playing in the OPJHL. Many others are playing in the Eastern U.S. Junior B Leagues. What are the thoughts on this?

Pursuant to the Canadian Development Model, 15-year-olds can't play Junior A in Canada anymore (other than 5 games + end of season). So McFarland will be playing minor midget for the Jr. Canadiens.

I have seen Jon Merrill play in person. Saw him when Little Ceasars U-16s played against Cam Fowler and Honeybaked U-16s. While Fowler has a little more polish to his skating, Merrill was every bit as effective and may have an even better shot (that is really saying something). There is a reason this kid got (and accepted) a verbal offer from Red Berenson at U. of Michigan as a 14 year old. He'll do very well in the USHL. I have no doubts.
