You guys are seriously the best....lol. Unfortunately, my guy will most likely not be in the lineup. However, I think Sanheim deserves to be in there to continue his growth. The D has been looking fairly solid(even with AMac), so Manning will assume his #7 role until there is a last minute injury, illness, etc.

McDavid is going to get his normal point or two a game, but let's make it as difficult as possible for him.

A smart coach would put manning in. Manning for Amac would be nice.

This schedule is a monster! I guess we will play SOME easier games later, but we still have to play nearly all the metro games which is going to be very difficult.

It's suuuuper good news that the Oilers beat the Blackhawks last night, because that ended their 0-4 slump. You can bet your ass we would have ended for them if they came in here on a losing streak. I always feel far more comfortable playing a team on a winning streak than a losing streak, since we're the slump busters. Now we at least have a chance, especially if Manning can neutralize McDavid, like he always does.

Manning better not be coming in for Sanheim. He is coming off of his best game so far and I think he could really do some damage in open ice against an Oilers team that is actually fairly slow outside of McDavid.

I hate to admit it, but the last game really exposed the fact that Brayden Schenn is missed in our lineup. He would certainly be an upgrade to Weise and our injury plug-ins like Lehtera in the middle 6. Konecny has so far not gotten the "bigger role" that Schenns trade promised. In fact, he has gotten less ice time so far. Then you sprinkle in the fact that Filppula is a not a good fit on PP1 (regardless of the couple of goals), and that Schenn was also effective in those late-game goalie-pulled situations, and you have a trade that is going to hurt us all season unless Lindblom can start producing in the A and earn a promotion.

Giroux - Couturier - Voracek
Schenn - Patrick - Konecny
Weal - Filppula - Simmonds

Is what our top 9 COULD have been..

John Boruk on NBC Sports Phil called the oilers a speedy team. I beg to disagree. You have McDavid who in my opinion is the best player in the NHL and the fastest skater. But for the most part the team is very slow. The Flyers should be all over this team. I hope Manning is held out so that we do not get caught up in all the BS they may to try to slow things down. If we do not score at least four goals I will be disappointed. I will give them a pass losing last night but just a little one. I have a feeling we may see Matt Read who was ripping it apart in LV. NAK and Vecchione should have gotten a shot over Matt unless it was a showcase for a trade;)

No reason for that trade this year at all. Could have made it next year considering it's 2 low 1sts. Any gm would have got more then that. You are spot on in with this post.

Read has 1 goal in 5 AHL games and has spent some time on the 4th line.

You know how I feel about Schenn. I am a huge fan of his. The problem here is Ron was counting on Lindblom and to a lesser extent Patrick to fill in the gap that was left when Brayden was traded. Lindblom clearly was not ready to play here and so far has to be considered a disappointment in LV. I have no issue with the play of Patrick but I wish Weise was not on his line. Getting two number one picks was sweet but we are going to have to wait for years to know how it turns out for us all the while Giroux, Jake and Simmer grow older.
PS, that is a great second line!

For a team that was banking on Lindblom replacing Schenn, they sure as shit didn't give him much of a chance to make the team.

Played 2 Preseason games with the veterans and was one of their best forwards in the 2nd game. They then made up their mind and sat him the last 2 games instead of seeing if he could build off of that game. Now we are left with Dale Weise in a top 9 role dragging their 2 most talented young forwards through the mud.

Y'all might see me around your GDT's this season, if you'll have me.

Love my Avs but I'm thinking I'll be watching a lot more Flyers games this season than I usually do.

More often than not watching Avs hockey is like begging to become depressed.

You are more than welcome, accept when we play the Avs :thumbu:
