QUOTES TO NOTE:

When guys are out, it gives more opportunity to different guys.
It’s important to have guys who make the most of this.
You can’t look for any excuse not to play your best or not to find a way to win.
- Henrik Lundqvist

I wasn’t giving the guys on my team the best I had and that almost makes you feel even worse.
I think this is the first step to get back to where I am and come back and have a meaningful impact on this team.
- Kevin Shattenkirk

Injuries are a part of the NHL. Guys get sick, guys get hurt. Sometimes it's not long, sometimes it's longer.
You've got to put, with your staff, the best lineup that you think gives you a chance to win.
I'm looking forward to this group responding in the right way and playing the right way.
- Alain Vigneault

I hope the pairing is Smith DeAngelo im not sure how I feel about that pairing. Nate is having a helluva season, who would of known trading Duchene would of changed that whole team

Well, I watched the Isles and Penguins games which were disasters and then missed all/part of the next two which were wins. I’m home for this one tomorrow so... strap in.

One thing that’s crazy to me is the difference between our top scorer and theirs. We have the same number of points in the standings. They have two games in hand. On paper they’re a worse team and they were horrible last year. They’re dealing with injuries to key players too. But guys like Landeskog, Rantanen and Mackinnon make such a difference. Our top scorer has 32 points. Mack has 57. Ouch.

ADA was on PP2 in practice today. I guess they'll move one of McDonagh/Skjei up to PP1?

Either we'll find out at morning skate tomorrow, or it will be a surprise.

If this is true come the actual game AV should be fired on the spot. Put our worst offensive defenseman in McD on pp1 and put ADA who is made for this role on pp2. McD is very good defensively but has hands worse than Tanner Glass.

Let's be honest here Mac gets the first PP because he's a Vet the Captain of this team and when someone needs to be out there for the defensive aspect of things it's him.

I have nothing against him on the top pp to spread the talent out

Lets have two bad PP's, seems a good idea.

DeAngelo should replace Shattenkirk. McDonagh is bad on the PP.
I agree, it makes no sense. McDonagh is not great on the power play but he's fine for a second unit getting mop up duty. But PP2 is already largely ineffective, now they're going to mitigate PP1 as well.

DeAngelo should slot right into Shatty's spot on PP1 if for no other reason than the fact that he's right handed. How can AV and Arniel not understand that the PP functions so much better with a RH shot up top because that RH shot can easier move the puck to Zibanejad. I guess we'll see tomorrow how it looks but I'm hoping TDA gets a shot on PP1.

If ADA is on the first place unit the second unit won’t even be needed. Ba-Da-BING!
