[FIELDSET="QUOTES TO NOTE"]

As a player, you want to make a difference every night. Especially being my first game at MSG, I had that extra boost to make a difference.
I’ve played a couple of games here with Pittsburgh but it was a completely different animal playing for the home team.
It’s definitely a different experience this time around. I had some nervous energy before the game and it was just a fun atmosphere.
I just wanted to play my game. I didn’t want to do anything outside of what I bring. I thought we had good chemistry.
- Jayson Megna

We took advantage of some mistakes that they made and I think defensively we did a lot of good things.
I think our last couple of games defensively we’ve been much, much better.
- Derek Stepan

There’s no doubt that we played a good game tonight. We came out with a good battle level. Execution was good.
I like the fact that when they scored, we came right back and we responded right away with a big goal.
- Alain Vigneault

Should be a great test. Let's hope the Caps slept terrible in the hotel last night.

It is a no brainer that McIlrath should be in this game especially without Kreider in . If nothing else dress him as a 7th and use Boyle if needed on the 4th or up front on PP or offensive zone draws since he has a nose for the net . I cannot figure out our behind the bench crew....it is *** STUPID . Caps will pound us and we likely will have some of our D pounded to pieces as the Caps run at us at will . Not like Glass will be a detriment in that regard . 6-1 Caps .

still trying to figure out this lineup

caps without orpik, carlson, sill, johannson and beagle

so probably something along the lines of

ovechkin backstrom oshie
burakovsky kuznestov williams
chimera latta wilson
carey laich galiev

niskanen alzner
orlov schmidt
chorney ness

AV sayd Girardi, Klein playing better than Mac defensively and Boyle needed on PP. So, right side tough to crack

Sigh

AV on McIlrath: "At this time, I think [Klein] and [Girardi] are better defensive defensemen than he is, and overall defensemen than he is."

Funny ass ****. AV should do stand-up.

HAHAHAHA

AV should be a comedian, not a coach.

What a ****ing moron, overrated seems like an appropriate word for him.

Klein I understand; I would agree about Girardi if this were 2-3 years ago, but today that statement is just wrong.

Might as well just trade McIlrath. Never gonna get a fair shake here as long as AV is the coach.

Team literally has 1 good pairing. Gives 1 of them 15 minutes and misuses him as bad as possible and scratches the other one.
****ing joke.

It`s nice to have 4 NHL-capable RD`s, but McIlrath need to play more games. This is just silly.

I'm not one to overreact but AV needs to go. There is no shot of anything with Hank's remaining "window", with these atrocious defensive deployments. Yandle not getting the minutes he should, McI sitting, now these delusional comments. There is a big problem here, don't see AV's ****ish personality helping anything at all.
