Excuuuuse you...

(though to be fair I will be living up there again real soon)

Fayetteville? I watched most of the 2006 cup run from Sports USA on Ft. Bragg....there were like a half dozen dudes there in that enormous place.

One time I was staying in Blowing Rock while on a snowboarding trip. I went to a bar and was all like "can you put on the Hurricanes game" and the barkeep was all like "Its Friday night! Miami doesnt play until Saturday, dummy!" and I nearly went berserk and tore the place down.

I've seen mockups where the two flags were like ripped to make a C and H... kinda like this? Not sure how I feel about it

Iiiiinteresting.

Adding the NC flag will really piss off the relo theorists.

I like it.
ever noticed how similar the NC flag is to the TX flag?

Relocation confirmed

(in all seriousness, if this is the case, I put the O/U on 10 comments before someone mentions the Texas flag when the reveal makes its inevitable appearance on the main hockey board)

It’s the old misdirection trick. Get us expecting something close to what we had before. Then unveil the league’s most fabulous new fashion statement!
It'll be featured on the upcoming season of Project Runway. That week's top designer will have their uniform featured as a permanent alternate look for one of the premier franchises in American sports. (classic PR oversell)

I have a hard time envisioning the double flag main crest without it seeming too busy. I don't like the NC flag idea at all.

The only thing that would bug me about the NC flag is that it clashes with the whole rest of the uniform. Colorado pulled it off because they designed a whole jersey around the same colors and features... this would be more like Calgary where the flag is a big distraction.

My guess is that it'll be a 2-tone flag, similar to how we handled the eye logo on the previous 3rds. I base this on this image...

The dotted fabric indicates that patch is on the shoulders, and if the rumor is true... I do wonder if this means there is a NC on one side and SC on the other.

There are pretty specific rules about how flags are supposed to be displayed... granted, they’re not iron clad laws, but it’s the sort of thing that people will nitpick and make a stink about. Particularly for something as visible as this. I’d think two-tone is off the table.

Also it would be hilarious if the included SC. A good portion of the fanbase would be triggered.

I think I've seen the NC flag in NCSU, Duke, UNC, and ECU colors downtown in the variety of beer festivals I've been to, so its not unheard of to do that. I've also seen numerous NC flags with the confederate battle flag taking the place of the white and red regions pretty much every time I've been to a tailgate at a State or Canes game. So... I think there are certainly ways around it.

There are always going to be bootleg versions and whatnot. American flag beach towels with a big pot leaf in the middle, etc.

Putting it on a uniform for an organization that “represents” the state is different. The elements of the flag are codified, and people sensitive to decorum are likely to be opposed to changing the colors.
