Can Aho be sent back to Finland? Is that even an option like it is with juniors?

The real problem Aho and TT and Lindholm all have, is that they aren't particularly fast. Usually, these young high skill guys are fast, but ours never seem to be. With no high end speed, and no strength, they fall into the same situation all struggling Canes prospects fall into. How do you create space so you can use some of that skill?

The only answer (outside of development) is to be on the PP, or have a really good player on their line to create it for them. Instead, we get to watch the 3 of them just get smothered for 15 minutes a night.

Wally, not sure which Aho or Teravainen you're watching. Young Sebastian has significantly better than average speed and TT is downright speedy.

Player Profile: Sebastian Aho

The Hurricanes off-season goal was to add scoring. One big part of that plan was counting on 19-year old rookie Sebastian Aho. Aho was a second round pick by Carolina Hurricanes in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. At his best, Aho is a two-way forward who is a good skater with great hands and a very high IQ. Carolina didn’t deem the 18-year old draftee ready for the NHL and he spent the year in Finland tallying 45 points in 45 games.

The talent is not a question, but as a teenager Aho stands at 5’11” and 172 pounds which is a less than ideal NHL fram. The young Finn tallied an assist in each of his first two NHL games and seemed to fit the part, averaging a point-per-game over his first five. There is no expectations for Aho to finish the year averaging a point-per-game, but it appeared he was ready to contribute at this level.

I'm not even clicking on this.

In fact, I kind of wonder if it's time for mods to step in here.

True facts: The Appalachian State rugby team plays in Aho. They call themselves Aho Rugby because the university refused to sponsor them as a club team when they first started in the '70s.

appropriately enough, if you click through you'll learn that the community is a watershed

In Finnish 'aho' means 'glade' or 'clearing', referring especially to the sort of clearing that starts to sprout grass and green things after the whole goddamn forest is burned down and devastated.

The analogue to Finnish junior hockey is disturbingly fitting.
