I disliked the play-in rounds but I understood it due to highly unusual circumstances. You have 82 games to make the playoffs and now they are going to compensate teams that failed to make it by giving them another chance in a short series?...I don't think so.
This has got to be the strangest argument against the play-in round.
It's not a "second chance" - it's a proper wild-card system.
It also adds more value to the regular season, as seeded teams who skip the wild card, can afford more rest and preparation while the wild-card teams slog it out.
