Mizral was suppost to do Sweden. I really don't know enough of the players in the SEL to make up a team.

I gave it a try. I couldn't even finish it. Someone else from Sweden could try but I think they will end up just like me. For forwards I have put together the best ones in every position IMO.

Jens Karlsson - Alexander Steen - Fredrik Sjöström
Nicklas Danielsson - Yared Hagos - Loui Eriksson
-Robert Nilsson - Andreas Jämtin
- Fredrik Johansson -

Staffan Kronwall - Daniel Fernholm
Tobias Enström - Robin Jonsson
Simon Skoog -

What positions are Joukov and Umicevic? Would either of them be good enough?

The simple answer is that they aren't good enough. If they are it's terrible. They haven't done anything in the SEL. The reason I didn't complete the roster is because I had difficulty finding even the players I did find.

Well, I saw this is more about "potential" and not the necessarily the best U22 players right now. Here's Sweden.

Goalies
Henrik Lundqvist
Magnus Ã…kerlund

Defense
Johan Fransson - Lars Jonsson
Oscar Hedman - Tobias Enström
Richard Demén-Willaume - Daniel Fernholm

Forwards
Robert Nilsson - Alexander Steen - Loui Eriksson
Johannes Salmonsson - Carl Söderberg - Fredrik Sjöström
Jonas Johansson - Yared Hagos - Andreas Jämtin
Alexander Sundström - Tom Wandell - Nicklas Bergfors

Goalies: Nothing to complain about there, two very talented goaltenders.
Defense: Not great depth, 3 strong names in Fransson, Jonsson and Hedman though.
Forwards: Very good depth, not many with "star" potential though. The fourth line could turn out to be the best one, but they are all born 1987 and have a long way to go.

-------------------EDIT:
Not going by potential, I'd guess it would look something like this.

Goalies
Henrik Lundqvist
Magnus Ã…kerlund

HM: Joakim Lundström, Christopher Nilstorp, Chistopher Heino-Lindberg

Defense
Johan Fransson - Lars Jonsson
Oscar Hedman - Daniel Fernholm
Tobias Enström - Simon Skoog

HM: Robin Jonsson, Staffan Kronwall

Forwards
Robert Nilsson - Alexander Steen - Loui Eriksson
Andreas Jämtin - Yared Hagos - Fredrik Sjöström
Jens Karlsson - Jonas Nordquist - Tim Eriksson
Johannes Salmonsson - Joel Lundqvist - Jonas Johansson

HM: Carl Söderberg, Nicklas Danielsson, Martin Samuelsson

No Nicklas Danielsson, Predatore?

Volchenkov just had a birthday - did he make himself ineligable?

I'd have Matthew Lombardi over Roy or even Vermette right now. I've seen about 20 game of Lombardi this season, and he really impresses me.

I have him as an HM, had a hard time deciding between him and Nicklas Danielsson on the fourth line :) He is probably better at this point, although expect Salmonsson to be the better player next season.

Only problem is that Djurgården has loads of forwards, and he could have a hard time getting quality ice-time.

Team USA

Zach Parise - Patrick O'Sullivan - Dustin Brown
Patrick Eaves- Danny Fritsche- Ben Eaves
Chris Higgins- Ryan Kesler- Rob Schremp
RJ Umberger- Jim Slater- Phil Kessel (U-18)

Tim Gleason - Mike Komisarek
Ryan Suter - Mark Stuart
Ryan Whitney- Keith Ballard
Jack Johnson (U-18)

Rick DiPietro
Al Montoya

Other guys I'd consider are Stafford and Thelen, as well as Tim Jackman if he makes the U-22 cut off. Jimmy Howard and James Wisniewski are two more I think could challenge, especially Wisniewski. I think he's pretty underrated.

While not amazing, this Swedish team is not that bad!

It's not very good either. The main problem is that the 83 and 84 years are very weak. This means there is not much to choose from.

The main difference between my team and Predatore's is that I didn't really think when I put the team together since I didn't pick anyone that had turned 22. And I forgot about Fransson. :dunno:

Kronblom,
seeing as it is U22, you are allowed to use players born 1982, at least during this current season :)

I pretty much agree with what I see, with the exception of Jonas Almtorp, should be a better option there. For example Jonas Nordquist or Joel Lundqvist.

Good choice. He's only 16, but he's easily the best defensive prospect Finland's had in years... a good enough reason to keep his picture as my avatar here.

The guy also has one of the hardest slapshots I've seen (well, at that age anyway) and still has a few years to improve it. He needs to hit the goal more often, though.

I fell in love with this guy this season (I have a season ticket for the HIFK Junior A home games) and I know he's got some potential. I just love to see a defender who stands out at this age. Usually people only notice the Ovechkin's and Tukonen's who score some goals.

His PP skills alone are enough to get him a place in some teams, but you can't forget his game reading skills. I mean I have never seen this guy play himself out of the situation or anything like that.

I know I've been saying this a lot, but I just can't help but love this guy. Only 3 goals was scored against Finland in the U18 WJC's while he was on the ice (with Korhonen usually) and 2 of them were empty-netters.

Only missing Joakim Lindström. He should at least have HM, although he has had an injury season.
