Hmmm
2024 is Boston's 100th season
That is why the 2003 Winter Classic at Fenway doesn't make sense unless it was a bone to the Pens owner who also owns Fenway Park.
Detroit: 1980
Washington: 1982
Pittsburgh: 1990
Chicago: 1991
Philadelphia: 1992
New York: 1994
Boston: 1996
Who says they want it?What are these cities doing wrong to not get an ASG?
Since it's been a Players' Picnic for several years, there's no motivation to cancel it. Just stop televising/streaming it, and show NHL "classic" games to keep the fans interested in real hockey while the boys yuck it up or rest up (depending on which ones get invited).Cancel this stupid event.
It is an interesting dichotomy as on one hand you hear about the All-stars wanting it in sunny locales and want the "work" to be as much play as possible. Then you have the players who don't make, truly being rewarded with a week off to take a vacation. The whole premise is stupid. While we are at it, do away with the Pro Bowl and NBA all star nonsense as well.Since it's been a Players' Picnic for several years, there's no motivation to cancel it. The All-Star Game in all leagues including NHL get some of the highest tv ratings in their leagues. Will never do away with them.It is an interesting dichotomy as on one hand you hear about the All-stars wanting it in sunny locales and want the "work" to be as much play as possible.
