Most of those AHL Allstars who put up a ton of points but never really make the NHL are not suited for third or fourth line duty which is where most callups are expected to play. They're often one-dimensional offensive players but not good enough to play on top 6 scoring line in the NHL. Only when teams really struggle with injury they really get a shot and those teams are pretty much allways bad because they have so many injuries.
