Are a lot going to get drafted from California? And if you could say some names that would be great!
Why does the WHL draft a year before the other CHL leagues ?
WHL teams need more time to recruit as sending your kid hundreds of kilometers away may not be as desirable an option to all. The WHL is far more spread out than the QMJHL and the OHL. This is a large reason for the year earlier. Most would agree though that a midget draft would be ideal as that year from bantam to midget sees a lot of growth in some players. Why does the WHL draft a year before the other CHL leagues ?
ND is only grade 9-12, 2003s are only moving up to grade 9 this year
Hmm So what you are saying is that since no 2003's have played for them yet how can they be listed with ND beside their names if they haven't even played there yet. Makes sense.
2003's did play last year as that was first year of bantam, but only some teams carried first years. ND did not, all kids on roster were '02s.
A team like OHA Edmonton had numerous '03's- Tschergil , Smith , Dach, etc
Anyone have an opinion on PCAHA (Pacific Coast) VS SHA (Saskatchewan) for 2003's?
My feeling is PCAHA is becoming very watered down with all the Academies in BC where as I am unaware of how many Academies there are in Saskatchewan or the level of tier 1 bantam hockey as compared to PCAHA in BC
Sask now has Prairie Hockey Academy as well as ND- still not as many as BC has though. I think you are right when you see Tier 1 hockey outside of academies getting somewhat "watered down", as some of the top players have been scooped up by the academies.
