I would take Frk just to help him to promote himself and taste different hockey for a while. He needs some boost and he deserves it. Also Kampf, swedish Kase, Necas and Jaskin should be there. Not sure about Chytil but they should scout him. Who cares about medals, give it to youngs and change coach if he doesnt change himself.

Josef Jandač say he want younger team there, so I don't even write Koukal, Vondrka and other old players as possibilities. We will see, all depends on who from NHL is available. And sorry about Kämpf from Chicago, forgot about him. Also add Calgary players now.

D: Michal Jordán (Chabarovsk, KHL), Vojtěch Mozík (Podolsk, KHL), Adam Polášek (Soči, KHL), Ondřej Vitásek (Chanty-Mansijsk, KHL), Marek Hrbas, Lukáš Klok (both HC Vítkovice Ridera, Extraliga), Jakub Galvas (HC Olomouc, Extraliga)

I am glad to see Galvas there. Also Musil and Stránský are rookies. Nakládal on the other side is not there, probably refused.

New info about team. Jakub Nakládal, Tomáš Zohorna and Lukáš Radil all injured and will not play at WHC this year. Same case probably with Tomáš Kundrátek and Jan Kolář, but there is some hope.

Another big loss in Jan Kovář, he is tired after long season + his contract ending. Hopefully there will be Faksa or Sobotka to fill his place in team. No info on NHL players yet. Also Michal Vondrka won't get invite this year.

OMG, another central pillar of success in Pyeongchang! :help:
Retaining guys like Kolar, Kundratek will be crucial now. Faksa would be awesome. :thumbu:

Nakládal and Kovář are big losses. I also read Kundrátek is at 95% out. We must hope for NHL players. Best chance is with Rutta, maybe Šimek will come too and then hopefully Gudas or Kempný/Jeřábek. Faksa is signed, so I hope he will come, same with Frolík and Sobotka (if no play-off). Then some of Frk/Chlapík/Chytil/Jaškin/Kampf + first round players(wishfully Voráček). And if Voráček, then Neuvirth-Francouz-Furch will be looking good too. One can dream:)

Filip Pyrochta and Jan Ordoš are next ones to join the team. There is also possibility Ladislav Šmíd and Michal Bulíř will join too. All four from Bílí Tygři Liberec. Tomáš Filippi on other side decline offer, he has serious injury before, so it's not surprising.

I'd take something like this. Only Červenka & Kašpar over 30. For me locked 100% goalkeepers Francouz & Furch, defensemen Polášek, Rutta, Jordán, Mozík + Pyrochta and forwards Stach, Červenka, Faksa, Frk, Nestrašil, Kousal + Nečas. Maybe good chance for guys like Hronek, Cienciala and Kämpf?

G: Francouz, Furch, Hrachovina
D: Polášek, Rutta, Pyrochta, Mozík, Hronek, Jordán, Trončinský
F: Stach, Červenka, Kubalík, Stránský, Kašpar, Faksa, Frk, Horák, Nestrašil, Nečas, Cienciala, Kousal, Kaše/Kämpf/Tomášek

A young & talented team, although 2-3 more seasoned players, especially at centre, would be great (if not needed for success).

I would like to see Hronek too, but he will probably play AHL play-off with Grand Rapids. I would also take Sekáč, he is productive in KHL play-off. Kašpar was not invited, Birner and others have bigger chance.

Yea, I think Czech national hockey team management should try different concept than on the championships before. It showed us we are not productive especially in important matches. In my opinion is at least half solution to take players who are younger (it means hunger, predatory, speed, not a big pressure), and they should play role containing simple game & straightforward. The question is how many those players do we have? Players who can take this role in the national team?

And the next big problem of our management is that they can't choose right captain... Real leader of a whole team. I dont mean guy with 10 goals and 10 assists but someone, who is good speaker and motivator like Rolinek and Výborny were, for example.

I'm curious about changes in nomination and I hope this year we can win a medal finally.

Sekáč can be, he's not a bad player but his performance in NT was not really good. Sekáč should make points and he has 3+2 in 30 games... I dont understand why they dont take universal player Kašpar. In my opinion he's the best addition to national team at this time. He has lot of experiences on the national scene and at hockey in general. He is collecting points, making great passes and also great shots, he has very skilled hands. His stats - 21+17 in 93 international games. Also you can put him to the almost all lines and he's still beneficial player. I do not know him personally but from interviews and reportages looks like cool guy, who can make good atmospere even out of the matches.

I take Sekáč as one of the possible future leader at WHC. He is still 25 year old and one of our best Europe players already. He is not productive now, but he can get there, if he have enough experience. I think he is one of players, who can take the role you write about.

I like Kašpar too, but he has bad season, like all from Slovan. So you can undestand why he is not there, coachs just have different preference. We also don't know who is coming next, there is Gulaš/Růžička/Mertl/Koukal/Nečas/Sekáč/Kaše etc... + Faksa,Frolík,Kampf,Chytil,Chlapík,Frk.... Also first round players from NHL. They built the team with future plan we don't know.

I dont think there's lot of players who could help our team on the Championship in Denmark. I'd take only defenseman Gudas and forwards Krejčí, Pastrńák, Voráček, Sobotka... Anyway starters of the match Czechia x Slovakia > Francouz; - Polášek - Gudas; Kubalík - Krejčí - Pastrňák would be amazing :thumbu:

Yeah, I don't expect lot either. I just making it as example why Kašpar doesn't fit them in team, as they expect different players in his role. That line-up will be good, we just have to hope:). And sorry to all NHL fans from these teams, as they surely don't hope for that:D.

vs Slovakia potential starters:

Rybar - Sekera-Chara; Tatar-Mikus-Panik can't wait for the match

Chytil will be a free, je must get a chance.
I think he will. Only problem can be with medical check-up, as he was injured earlier this season. If there is no problem with it, then NHL season ending on April 8, so lots of time before WHC start. He will get a chance at Carlson and Sweden hockey games and we will see if he make it.

Turns out Sekáč injury is worse than expected, he will also miss WHC this year. That will make 6 players from Olympic who can't go this year. Nakládal, Radil, Zohorna, Kovář, Sekáč, Kovář + Kolář, Kundrátek probably too and Erat, Němec retired.

To reply on myself, Josef Jandač confirmed he want invite Filip Chytil to the team, same with Filip Chlapík.
