I'm not going to lie, I never used to like Ovechkin, mainly because he took a lot of joy in playing the game, and most of the time throughout his career it was at our expense. But man, I was pulling for him this year. Seeing the Red Sox get past the Yankees in 2004, the Cubs get past the NLCS in 2016, Cleveland getting the NBA title in 2016, the Eagles get their Super Bowl this year... Nothing brings me more joy than to see absolutely tortured fan bases get to celebrate that first title. There is just something to the "I never thought I would ever live to see the day..." that is just truly great about sports.

But seriously, after watching the Caps celebrate last night I went back and watched videos from the Super Bowl this year, and I'm telling you, this Eagles fan still gets choked up when I realize they actually won the thing. I'm truly happy for Caps fans they finally have that same moment.
