With all due respect, Jerry Remy is completely mailing it in. I don't think he even does any research on the teams playing anymore.

Dave: Last year, the Rays also had a lot of pop
Jerry: That's how they beat you! With the homerun!
Dave: Well, most of it is gone. Logan Morrison, Stephen Souza, and Corey Dickerson are no longer with the club, that's a hundred homers lost right there.
Jerry: They're in transition!

Bruins attack and the Red Sox are apparently going to take the approach

The drive the starters pitch count up and get him out and a bunch of tomato can middle relievers is dead

Bogearts going to have a big year

60+ EBH and 850 OPS

J.D. Martinez has "J.D. Martinez" on the back of his jersey even though there are no other Martinezes on the team. It looks pretty clunky since the initials are going halfway down his back. Seems pretty weird, but maybe the Sox brass thinks it'll sell more player t-shirts to put his whole name on there.

I'm excited to see Bogaerts adjust his batting stance under the new hitting coach. Maybe that'll get him to a mroe consistent level of production.

Also, I hate Chris Archer.

If I am LA Dodgers who have a deep Farm I am targeting Archer

Sale may not like it but after 6 innings he's out

I hope Cora is more careful about his workload than Farrell was last year. He was cooked by late August.

I'm liking what I'm seeing from X this year. 2 for 2 already with the upright batting stance.

I don't even care if the Rays come back to win this game, what a trash lineup. And they're going with a bullpen game on Saturday? What happens if you have a long extra inning game tomorrow night or the starter gets knocked out early? I'm taking them as the worst team in baseball this year.

I'll feel better about the defense if Pedroia is healthy and Moreland is playing first at some point

To be fair that's a good play on a sinking liner. It happens.

As long as they aren't running into outs trying to go 1st to 3rd on a single like last year, they'll be okay.
With a new coaching staff, I'm guessing they won't be as aggressive. The fact that they have more pop with Martinez and a full year of Devers means they don't have to gamble on aggressive baserunning to create runs anymore.

They're not even the worst team in the state of Florida. And it's not even close.

I feel like Kevin Cash and Erik Neander are trying too hard to be the smartest guys in baseball with this 4 man rotation and bullpen games and crap. Like they're trying to find the next big moneyball trick by throwing everything unconventional at the wall. I don't see it working out for them. But at least they're trying, unlike Jeter.

They can battle it out with the Marlins for the first pick then. I can understand skipping a guy in the rotation but these built in bullpen games? I think it's gonna blow up in their face.
