Discuss the Olympics here, including non-hockey

And this shouldn't need to be said but no politics here either.

I have to admit today was the first time I bothered to look at the US Olympic hockey roster and along with Gionta apparently there are ex-Devil luminaries Bobby Butler and Brian O'Neill  (and ex-Ranger luminary Matt Gilroy)

I can never really bring myself to watch the non-hockey stuff though I try to pay cursory attention. It's just hard to get emotionally invested in sports I barely know with athletes I may have been familiar with four years ago, or not. And with the Devils going on during the Olympics this time it'll be even harder now.

Well Hockey is not the only sport going. The way our team is going you might want to pay attention to the Olympics except for Curling.
I don't really know the athletes except the ones that are still there from two Olympics back. The ones before that are announcers.
At least there are no refs screwing up your game. You screw up its your fault you didn't win.
Pull for your country or whatever country you want. Individual accomplishment makes for great sports, its what makes Baseball so good.

A $20 investment in a Chromecast is mandatory for this.

It means you're not at NBC TV's mercy and forced to watch 1000 hours of figure skating, followed by some faux sad-sack "overcoming personal loss" story, and will actually get to see what you want.

I just watched all 36 women's halfpipe runs, rather than the handful that NBC "allowed" its' TV viewers to watch.

Now I'm streaming the men's combined downhill, every single run, and all on my beloved 60" TV. :yo:

I think the NBC website offers full replays of every event after the fact, but their site is almost as hard to figure out as the NHL website.

Nice! Direct TV is doing a pretty good job with being able to see and DVR what I want to see but Cromecast sounds better

I haven't bothered watching anything but hockey, just don't care.

Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson set a hockey Olympic record today with 2 goals in 6 seconds for the US against fake Russia.

I'm looking forward to USA vs Canada for the winner of the group and to finally get a really competitive game. Most of these games haven't been worth watching.

Also Canada had a goal disallowed today that was clear as day a good goal, they zoomed in on it and you can see the white between the puck and the goal line. Pissed me off even more about that phantom goal that was counted against us the other night with no real proof.

the snowboarding events have been awesome so far.

i still can't get over what red gerard and chloe kim are doing at only 17 years old.

also shawn white's qualifier was what you expect from him. he can make american olympic history on a level with michael phelps respective to his sport this time around.
