Maybe someone with fresher legs will surprise, but those are the favorites, in that particular order. The Norwegians can again try a team effort, but that failed spectacularly in men already.

Swedish skis has not been very good during this olympics, atleast not during the day when it has been warmer. That's my biggest fear right now

Niskanen was superhuman though. Not sure anyone was beating him.

Swedens first bronze in this years Olympics. 7 gold, 6 silver and now 1 bronze

I think Stina beating Östberg also means Norway "only" getting 39 medals and not reaching 40? I love Norway but they're what Canada is at hockey when it comes to skiing. Never want them to succeed but they always do :D

Kalla claiming both grip and glide were awful, even worse after the ski change. The crew has been terrible at getting the skis right during this Olmpics

Not surprised that Kalla is already giving excuses. 30 km is too long distance for her, Charlotte gassed out like she usually does at that range.

Björgen was amazing. Best female skier ever with wide margin. Krista for silver.

Kalla isn't really the whiny type though. And you could tell on the first lap how bad her glide was. Towards the middle of the race it was a little more even when they all had been on their skis for a long time

She could have had tremendous skis and still got nothing for Björgen today, lets make that clear.

Is there enough time for the maintenance group to react to the initial feedback from the skier about the track condition and the ski vaxing, so they could fix the vaxes on the second etc. pair of skis before the change to 2nd skis?

You know, prepare the skis pre-race, but vax the finishing touch on them just before the change.

Probably they got say 3 skis which are similar to choose from (and a heap of other skis too), so it should be possible to adjust. The thing is that if you went with wrong skis at first then you might miss again.

Maybe she had some issues with skis, but also started with too big pace & had really terrible gameplan. She tried to answer against Björgen which was huge mistake. After that gas out was obvious from her body language & face.

To make things better it was her father commenting the race for Austrian television, disappointment is a mild word to describe it.
Really felt bad for her.. I hope she comes back stronger in China 2022 and the next world champs too..

All of Norwegians have it and all at the maximum effect so they can get doped more and hide more stuff... oh well

This is not correct. For instance, Klaebo and Krueger who won 5 golds and 1 silver between them (one being the same gold in the relay) have not asthma.

Educate yourself.

Asthma isn't doping. You can compare asthma to allergies. It's a disadvantage you take medicine for to get back to equal terms in terms of airways capacity. A healthy athlete can't gain anything from using asthma spray, as their airways already are good.

The only way of using any kind of asthma related medicine in a doping related way is getting it into the body in large quantities in food form. If used in such fashion it can help build muscles. There has been international studies on all of this.

Norway for sure aren't giving athletes large quantities of food made of asthma content (if it even exist?). Heck, Klaebo even struggled to eat enough slices of normal bread for breakfast this Olympics.
