I think they should send Alex to the WJC. Hopefully he scores loads on the wing of Pettersson and Canucks decides that "hey, those will be the new twins" and sends us Tanev or Juolevi back.
One could always hope...

Here is my preview of Team USA for the 2018 @WJCinBUF in my latest for @TheHockeyWriter -
Team USA looks to take back-to-back gold with a highly talented roster -

The Buffalo Sabres first-round (8th overall) draft pick in the 2017 NHL draft Casey Mittelstadt is whom the Buffalo hometown faithful will most closely be watching of any player in their tournament. This young man has worked hard at adding some size to his frame. His hockey sense is felt to be out of this world too. With 5 goals and 10 assists in 17 games this season for the University of Minnesota, Mittelstadt has put the effort in to make this roster.

The organizers or whomever set the prices for the medal round games better hope Canada and their rabid hockey fan base, make it all the way to the gold medal game where prices start at $90 in the 100 level and $225 in the 200 level. Semifinals aren't that much better...$65 and up for the 100 level and $150 and up for the 200 level.

Can't see many casual WNY hockey fans ponying up that kind of money for the gold medal game, even if the US is in it.

Anyone know how profits from the tourney are divided up?

Dahlin and Sweden playing a couple games at HarborCenter. I could see those games being at capacity, especially in Buffalo. Who's making the "All In for Dahlin" sign?

Casey Mittelstadt, C, University of Minnesota (NCHC): He's already one of the most talented players in college hockey as a freshman at Minnesota. Mittelstadt (6-1, 201), chosen No. 8 in the 2017 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, has the skill set, speed and vision to beat high-end players 1-on-1. The 19-year-old will be a dynamic offensive threat in the United States lineup during the tournament and will thrive in the spotlight as one of the top players in the tournament playing in the NHL city where he hopes to have future success.
