Trade Alert!

:leafs Trade Jake Gardiner to St Louis

:blues Trade Vince Dunn, Ville Husso and a 2019 3rd Rounder.

After the media and fans blaming game 7 on Jake Gardiner and the influx of pricey older right handed D we felt it was time for Jake to have a change of scenery. Vince Dunn is a high upside 2 way defenseman who has put up Jake Gardiner like numbers in the AHL, has proven he can play meaningful minutes in the NHL and adds some youth to compete on the left side. Husso is a great goaltender who can replace the Sparks sized hole I created.

Leafs are most likely done until the Tavares sweepstakes but we would definitely look at taking on a winger.

Also if anyone wants to shed a second line winger salary for a draft pick let me know.

Trade to announce:

:coyotes
Arizona have acquired the services of Vladimir Sobotka, with 1 million of retained salary, in return for forward Josh Archibald.

GM Mischief Managed: "With the departure of Brad Richardson to free agency, we thought it would be important to secure the services of a veteran centerman who is strong on the dot, and can help with our penalty kill. We're excited to have Vladimir stick around in the desert for at least the next 2 years."

Finally around to announcing this trade

Col trades Nemeth + 2019 3rd (OTT)

VGK trades #99 + 2019 3rd (WPG)

@AslanRH @Tweaky

:vegas

Confirms

Nemeth proved he could play top 4 minutes with a strong puck moving defenseman and provided solid defensive play in all situations.

He should be a solid addition to our group on the 3rd pairing, unless we can find him a better opportunity elsewhere in which case we will be happy to facilitate his continued success.

Bit of a more minor deal here to announce but hey trades are trades...

:bolts

Matt Benning

:edmonton

Anton Stralman

Stralman joins an Oilers team ready to make a strong return back to the playoffs next season and joins fellow countrymen Klefbom and Larsson on the back end for the playoff rush.

Benning is a cheaper option signed for an extra year and in tandem with Girardi makes up a solid #2 and #3 RHD pairing for us next season allowing Cal Foote to start the season in the AHL and be the first injury call up on that Right Side next season.

Oilers confirm.

We feel that Stralman helps to solidify our defense and add some additional stability and leadership that has been lacking in previous seasons.

We have a late night trade to announce!

:coyotes :vegas

Arizona acquires Colin Miller in exchange for Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 2018 and Calgary's 3rd round pick in 2018.

GM Mischief Managed: "Colin is a solid, young, puck moving defenseman, who we believe will thrive with our group of players and help solidify our 2nd PP. He is already a proven 40 point defenseman at the age of 25 years old, and we believe there is much yet to come for the young puck-mover."

Confirmed.

AGM AslanRH, “We hate to see Colin go, but we felt his opportunity to thrive in Arizona and our need to continue building organizational depth fit perfectly with this trade.

Many of our players didn’t choose to come here, and a few definitely did not want to. So when we have an opportunity to reward the effort and dedication they gave us this season with a chance to grow and succeed elsewhere, we are happy to try and make that happen.”

We have a trade to announce:

:canes acquire

Brendan Perlini
Darcy Kuemper (850k retained by Coyotes, so at 1M cap hit)
Coyotes 2019 2nd round pick

from :coyotes in exchange for

Elias Lindholm
Scott Darling

"We are sad to see both of our guys go. We didn't want to give up Elias Lindholm as we felt like he is part of our young core, but with the addition of Duchene and Kucherov we needed to shred some salary and could lose a guy from our forward core. By doing this trade we got six million off salary off our cap. We also wanted to give Darling a fair chance which he would not get playing behind Holtby.

That said we're very happy to add Brendan Perlini to this team. We trust that if we give him extended look on the wing of Duchene and Kucherov he might be a 30 goal guy for us. He has been teasing that 20 goal mark and is about to become a top six forward. But I gotta say, I'm also pretty excited to see the addition of Kuemper to this team. His end of the season with Coyotes wasn't great but he also has good track record of being a solid back up goalie."

Acquires Connor Brown

:leafs
Acquires Alex Kerfoot

Leafs feel this helps bring some offence which was lost by trading away half the team for Karlsson, it also allows Connor Brown to stay close to home. Kerfoot should be able to slide in as a more offensive 3rd line center, with the emergence of Matthews and defensive skill of Kadri we feel our top 3 centers coupled with super awesome defense version 2.0 should be very competitive.

:sabres Confirm.

We felt that Kerfoot deserved a better opportunity with another team, he was simply the odd man out on a team full of skilled, finesse players. We wish him nothing but the best and expect him to thrive in Toronto's uptempo system.

Brown is the exact type of player we need, and we're ecstatic to add him to our lineup. His energy and work ethic is infectious and his versatility to slot up and down the roster will add some great depth.
