Vitali Kravtsov is a star in the making. His ceiling is the top three forwards on any NHL team .

    KHL playoffs

    Highlights 2017-2018 season

For me Kravtsov is a better player then Svechnikov. Kravtsov was dominating KHL playoffs. And he is already a KHL star. Had a hat trick in one playoff game. Played among man as 18 years old.
He has a remarkable wrist shot, blasting speed. He has unbelievable hands and an arsenal of his own tricks. He is that kind of a player when he is on the ice will get you on your feet. In this context reminds me of Pavel Bure.

I take that question to ask who we think the team will pick, not who we want to pick. I picked Tkachuk, but he's not who I want.

I think he's a good option for a team that can be patient with it's 1st round pick. My understanding is he's under contract with his KHL team through next season. Teams will have to judge how committed he is to the NHL. I doubt he'd come over to play in the AHL, so they have to be ok with him developing outside of their system.

It's really too bad we don't have the 33rd pick this year. There will be lots of really good prospects available.

Get Sakic to throw us a couple pieces and I'd be completely fine with that.

If we trading EK then I'd easily give up the 4th too.

If we keep the 4th, but then we end up trading Karlsson anyway, then we are extremely stupid.

Management think this is still an ECF team even after trading Karlsson. That's why they'll make the pick, in their mind this is 100% a playoff team next year and every move this summer will be made with that mindset. They'll take the player who is most likely to help them next year (Bouchard or Tkachuk) over the player they think has the most long term potential.

Basically give up futures to be competitive short term while shedding salary. They see Vegas and say, hey we can do this too.

This team will be an interesting case study about incompetence one day.

The only way this team remains an ECF team is if we trade AN EXTENDED Karlsson. To a team like EDM for Drai or Vegas for Tuch+Theodore+Brannstrom/Glass then we sign DeHaan/Carlson and Tkachuk finishes with 60 point rookie season alongside standout Logan Brown 2nd line C while Anderson from 2 years ago is back.

Basically, if we trade EK we have to blow it up unless its an extended EK traded for a monstrous haul.

There is 0 way this team is an ECF team

    That is absurd

If everything possible goes right, we may only be a terrible laughing stock for 2 years.

Karlsson will not want to stay imo .. He's as good as gone. We have not seen the bottom of this pit yet

I think we should draft Ty Dellandrea at 4th overall. Hes used to be in a dysfunctional organization in Flint he would fit right in here no problem.

What do you guys think of Denisenko? Another flight risk like Kravtsov, and a little smaller, but his skill set is really well-suited to today’s NHL. Excellent vision, soft hands, and elite skating make him a threat especially on the rush. In the mold of a Marner or Panarin.

I’d love to draft a Russian this year.

Kravtsov would be a great pick anywhere outside the top 8. Getting a D and trading 22 + to move up for Kravtsov would be a homerun.

22 + Hoffman for 10 would be what I'd be aiming for. Hoffman still has value, and the Oilers can get a player they need and still pick in the 1st.

    Dobson + Kravtsov is dream-worthy

Do you think the sens still feel that they have another two potential players expected to be at that spot above Dobson? They certainly have slow played it if they are big fans.

Just for fun, here's a scenario I would like to see played out.

    1. Trade Hoffman to Arz for their 5th overall pick & maybe a prospect but, a first may be all they get.
    2. Trade EK to Detroit for a package that also includes their 6th overall pick in this yr's draft.
    3. Sign UFA Mike Green RD (gives Dobson RD 2 yrs to make the top pairing).
    4. Put a package together with a number of players available for a top NHL goalie like Cory Schneider G.

That would give Ottawa the 4th, 5th, 6th & 22nd pick in this yr's draft.

I would select in the 2018 draft with those picks:

4th - Tkachuk LW or Zadina LW if he is still on the board
5th - Dobson RD or Bouchard RD whoever they prefer more
6th - Kotkaniemi C if he is still on the board or Tkachuk or Walhstrom LW/C
22nd - Kravtzov LW/RW or Kaut RW depending on who is on the board still

Best case scenario - Tkachuk - Kotkaniemi - Kravtsov & Dobson.

    Ryan - Duchene - Stone
    Formenton - Brown - Batherson
    Tkachuk - Kotkaniemi - Kravtsov
    Pajaarvi - Paul - Gagne/Nurmi

    Chabot - Green
    Wolanin - Ceci
    Harpur - Dobson/Jaros

    Schneider - Gustavsson /Hogberg

Still available for a trade for a goalie or to improve the team - Anderson, Condon, Smith, White, Chlapik, Pageau, Dzingel, Lajoie, Perron, Luchuk & Englund.

I like your passion as a fan and you seem to be a gentleman. While I enjoy your posts, your trade offers are by far the worst - since you began posting here.

Nothing but love. But Hoffman for Arizona 5th overall and a prospect? Ahahahaha!

5th overall for Hoffman? We'd be lucky to get a 5th rounder at present time.

If the decision is made to deal EK, then yes I would suck it up and move on from that trade (try to get Sakic to give some pieces for the 4th overall though first as HTV mentioned). We would still have the 22nd pick + whatever picks we get for EK (can use some of those picks to move back up again if we want someone ranked in the mid-teens), and have the ability to go full re-build next season without worrying about our ****ing pick.

It would be idiotic to give up the 4th overall pick.
