I was up in Blaineville, at the Gatorade Cup and let me tell you one of the top 5 pick (D) sure didn't look like first a rounder at all... If you were their you know who I am talking about..
Lost of talent and skill. I did notice you have 12 solid first rounder's but after that picks 13-35 is a crap shoot all very equal all with different strengths, for the scouts its going to be who you like the most...

Assuming you mean Bellamy... IMO Barron was better.

Totally agree... 5 d (1 NS) (1 nl ) (3 que) were better than him.. even #5 from NB plays skated and moved the puck better than him

Hischier won't be back. But they also have Barron on D now too.

They are loading up for 2019 thats for sure

Hischier will be back in the Q as a 18 year old and maybe even a 19 year old. He's got loads of skill but needs to toughen up to play in the NHL. Halifax is going after the memorial cup so it's another reason why he might be back as a 19 year old. Teams tend to allow their draft picks to play in this tournament

I don't see how you can be so affirmative on this as , with the expansion draft, a lot of early picks will be needed.
Hischier is #1-3 next draft....

Didnt we hear something earlier in the year about Hischier only being on loan? If so he is AHL eligible too.. lowering the chances of him in Hali next year

Like I said, he needs to toughen up to make the NHL. He has a shot at making it as a 19 year old but I doubt he makes it as a 18 year old. There are not too many 18 year olds who make the NHL these days. This NHL draft, there may be none! Also, If Halifax gets the Memorial Cup in 2018-2019 season, whoever drafts Hischier might prefer for him to play in this tournament to help his development (as a 19 year old). It's a great tournament to play in where your playing against the best teams across the country.

How can Hischier play in the AHL as a 18 year old next year? Minimum age is 20.

The same way guys like Honka and Nylander played in the AHL as a 18 year old. (Min age is 18 not 20)

If Hischiers rights still belong to his Euro team (that euro team wouldve loaned him to halifax) then he could play AHL next year.

But if Hischier was not under contract in Europe (no team kept his rights) then he would have to be back in the Q as per the NHL/CHL Agreement.

Im not the best at explaining so if that isnt clear hopefully someone can step in to clarify

I was not aware of this. I did some googling and it looks like Hischier is a loan to the Mooseheads. http://www.broadstreethockey.com/fl...7-nico-hischier-vs-nolan-patrick-ahl-loophole
