Do you really expect a non-NHL ready defensive prospect to come in and play Year one, Morrissey didn't and neither did Trouba....

We should try to pick up the best defensive defenseman available though trade or FA..

Trouba came in after his D+1 year and played in the NHL.

Morrissey played in a junior league and played in the NHL in his D+4 season.

Niku played in a mens league in his draft year, in his D+1 and +2, and he'll be coming to NA in his D+3, and was one of the best if not the best U-23 dmen in Liiga last year.

I have no problem signing a UFA third pairing Dman.

What i'm telling you is Niku will be taking the job sooner rather than later. ;)

Okay
So after all this , I am not sure why we did this ?
I was hoping a trade was coming.
Can someone explain why the XD strategy was good ?
I'm not seeing a real upside.
Same roster , same coaching likely same results ?

Only with same injuries and same goaltending

Apparently this guy is a rapper as well or something? He was too shy to rap for the lady interviewer though.

Maybe he can work with Shief and Trouba on their signing game:

Only with same injuries and same goaltending

Do you expect to go injury free ?
Do you expect Maurice to be an awesome coach ?
Do you expect better discipline ?
Truthfully although naively I expected a trade honest

Probably will be a good player but a terrible fit. Not only a winger but LW. When he makes it to NHL level he will be behind Laine and Connor. And no, he won't move over unless Maurice is gone.

Laine is playing RW for us, Connor can play either wing, Ehlers can play either wing. Only Wheeler is set at RW.

Vesi...

I am okay with this pick. Better than Hague in the first...

Kostin would have been my first choice, but I am good with this pick.

Jets may trade some forward depth pieces now towards a young defenseman on existing rosters now...

Lets see what happens...

lol no he doesn't. he's another burmi/armia type pick

"A big and strong winger who has the ability to impact the game in many ways…plays a versatile, high-tempo offensive game…battles for pucks and space…a beast along the wall and difficult to move in front of the net…mixes a heavy game with very soft, skilled hands…possesses a very hard shot with quick release…makes soft, easy-to-control passes to his teammates…dangerous anytime he has the puck in the offensive zone"

Darth Hillier gets another big prospect

 Yeah, so is Laine. Definitely a pattern here. That's probably the only reason they took Laine too.

Seriously, nothing wrong with this pick except that we don't need any top 6 LW's for at least 10 years. Big is not a bad thing?

I absolutely detest Chelsea Dagger.

Lol Kane and Toews announcing the pick. I suppose the Hawks need to get value for money :naughty:
