Since we actually have a good deal of quality prospects, I might stretch this one to 25. It'll depend mainly on the turnout from here on out.

Bastian again. Add Davies

I like poppa as a prospect but you guys put him too high. He shouldn't be above Zetterlund from this draft, most likely not Walsh either.

He definitely shouldn't be over Bastian and Gigniac.

Voted Bastian, add Dyblenko. And I agree, maybe we should stretch this one out past 20. I haven't been this excited about our prospect pool in a very long time.

These rankings confuse me every year anyway. Are ranking on probability of being a NHL player? Simply odds of making it to the NHL? Being a star? Highest ceiling? I digress.

I think Bastian is overrated. I'm going Gignac again as I will until he is chosen. I like Walsh here too.

I know Bastian had a disappointing season in terms of points, but when I watched him in person he looked great. I also understand with his injuries how he might have had a write-off season.

JQ had a similarly disappointing D+1 and managed to turn it around.

Personally feel like voting popugaev is premature. He's up because he's a touted 1st round talent, sure, but so was Bastian. And Bastian has a solid CHL career while popugaev doesn't just yet. I do think pop can beat him out, but i think voting him ahead of bastian this off-season is a bit early

Agreed.

I understand everyone has their own criteria for how they vote. Poppy had first round talent, but there's also a reason he dropped to the 4th round. There's a reason Zetterlund and Walsh were selected ahead of him just a few weeks ago. I guess a lot of people like to weigh potential or best case scenario's for prospects a bit heavier when voting.

Yeah I think there's a little development camp bias happening here.

Castron said Walsh and Popugauv were rated the same but we needed D. I picked him because of his great first half last year, and not because of development camp. If he can put those numbers up all year, we all rated him too low.

Overall, Pop's draft year #'s were as good as Bastian's, if not a little better. The first part of the year with Moose Jaw was significantly better, his time with Prince George was a decent dropoff, but overall it's right there.

Pop's -1 year was also better then Batian's -1.

It's on whatever you want, really. I try to estimate using a combination of perceived proximity to the NHL, perceived ceiling, and perceived likelihood of reaching NHL potential.

This often thus entails looking at draft position, draft year, and recent performance trends.
