ECHL announces 2017 Preseason Schedule

The ECHL on Monday announced its preseason schedule of 23 games beginning Oct. 5 and continuing through Oct. 9.

The Premier ‘AA’ Hockey League will open its 30th season with eight games on Friday, Oct. 13. Opening weekend continues with 12 games on Saturday, Oct. 14 and one game on Sunday, Oct. 15. ...

They're both still having a preseason, just no games vs. other teams. Meanwhile, other teams' fans get an early hockey fix. That always feels good after a long hockey-less summer.

If you wish to be that technical and ignore the nuance of JDogindy's post, then I guess I should point that you're wrong and neither will be having a preseason. They will both have a training camp, but that's not what the excepted term "preseason" means in hockey.
