Yamamoto has the speed and grit that Eberle never had.

Honestly I think he's going to be the steal of the draft. He is small but he's an insanely good skater, loves forechecking and being physical, and doesn't shy away from contact.

People comparing him to a guy like Eberle are out to lunch.

Measured 5'7.5 and 146.6 at the combine.

Definitely will need to add some muscle. 5'8 isn't the end of the world for a skill forward. But that is a very light weight to play at.

But probably a couple years out before we need to worry about that.

Yamamoto is a sweet name too

Fantastic choice. Dude is small but has some good strength already. Beat out many players much bigger than him at the combine.

Very reminiscent of Eberle in 2008 at 22nd overall. Seemed like everyone had us taking Eberle.

He's more Johnny Hockey than Eberle. Happy with this pick. The new jerseys look good btw the thinner white lining on the collar is nicer than most teams that went with the "toilet bowl" design.

Admittedly not the most informed opinion, but Yamamoto was the #1 guy I was hoping the Oilers would be picking if they stayed at 22. Pint sized but feisty and is a human highlight reel. Exactly what our forward prospect depth needed.

Loved his dad's reaction in the stands lol, epic fist pump.

So kind of like a Gallagher type?

I'm good with this. There were other options out there, but high end skill is a good addition.

I like this pick, we have the size, as someone else pointed out we've been trying to draft brainless coke machines after our top picks, see moroz, at 22 gotta go boom/bust pick. Love a dynamic forward there

His numbers are pretty impressive given the terrible team he was on.

99 points for a draft year is intriguing that must be in the top 3 this draft . You can never ho wrong with Elite skill look at Marner
