New England 34, Houston 16, is the 17th such game score and thus qualifies as an odd game score. The most recent was the Packers beating the 49ers in 2010. This is also the third time it's come in the playoffs with the Dolphins beating the Bengals in December of 1973, and the Vikings beat the Saints in 2001.

If the texans had say matt ryan, they win that game, but osweiler is trash.

Are their any realistic options for the Texans to get rid of Osweiler? He is absolutely horrendous.

Houston only got here because they got to face an Oakland team without arguably their 2 most important players.

And yet they're a Bengals missed FG Christmas night from watching the playoffs on TV.

cutting him probably isn't.

cutting him before june 1st leaves texans with 25M cap penalty. his cap hit for next year is 19M. post june it's 19M penalty for next year but then 6M the year after that.

as incredible as it may sound, trading him might be the most realistic option. if he's traded, texans would be left with 9M cap penalty; 16M cap hit for brock on his new team but no guaranteed money left after that season.

of course, there aren't many (any) teams with an incentive to do that; unless houston adds one. so maybe something like osweiler and 2nd round pick for a 7th rd pick, or along those lines. texans save basically 16M with that move instead of cutting him to get him off the roster but give up a high pick to do so. new team gets osweiler along with his 16M cap hit but an high pick to go a long with it. as that 2nd round pick is relatively late, even that might not be enough incentive to take 16M of basically pure garbage.

not sure how realistic it is (probably not very) but i'd guess that's about the only option he ain't a houston texan next season.

With Wilfork likely retiring, do you guys think the Texans will go to a 4-3 with Watt inside and Clowney back to his natural DE position?

He was a monster in the last 3 games of the regular season that he played when he was playing edge rusher more consistently.

Oh, and I've been calling Osweiler the next Scott Mitchell since day 1 of that idiotic signing. Texans should draft Watson if he falls to their rank and sit that clown down for the next 3 years.
