Russo was just on KFAN, and they were mentioning that they thought Greenway might get some PP TOI. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me...isn't that one thing that actually takes a bit of practice? I'm all for Greenway being a net front guy on the PP, eventually, but 1st game in the organization?

The other four spots in the PP take a bit of practice.

Net front guy is stand in front of the goalie, and try tip shots that come through.

Nah, he does more than that, and that's only in the Ozone. Where does he play on zone entries, etc.?

Keep in mind the Wild had Foligno in that net front spot at points this season. I think BB might like a guy there, but really hasnt found a fit with Coyle, Nino, Parise, or Zucker.

From the latest Russo podcast it sounds like Fletcher has every intention of signing Sokolov, which is expected after the season he had. The surprising part is apparently management isn't very interested in Kahkonen and may not sign him. Who the hell else does the Wild have for future goalies? I'll take a guy who had a good season in Liiga at 21 over what the Wild currently have in the cupboards in goal.

I don't know, but maybe getting him to sign would have to come with promises that they aren't prepared to make?

I want Sokolov signed, for sure. It remains to be seen if he can play in the NHL, but that production is hard to ignore. He seems to be solidly built, and would be able to take as pounding.

The Wild need scoring up front. Ek looks like he is going to be a terrific two way player, but his ability to score is questionable. Kunin...who knows?

i would think the only way we wouldnt sign KK is if he said he doesnt want to play here or he doesnt want to come to NA. his #s are too good to pass on.

Maybe it's that he doesn't want to play in the AHL, and that's where the Wild want him to start.

I'm not surprised. I think he's been rather UNimpressive every time I've seen him play. JMO

Backup goalie or bust? I can't imagine much more of an ask from them, and even that's lofty on an expectation standpoint. I honestly think he's as skilled as any other goalie we have not named Dubnyk, so I think I'd bow to that request. And I'm a goalie from South Saint Paul. I actively root for Stalock.

Fair or not, I'm not sure, but this actually reminds me of the Johan Gustafsson talks, where it seemed like he wouldn't sign. In the end he did, and he really didn't perform (on a terrible AHL team). I'm not so sure this is quite the same, though.

Kind of a bummer of a year for Shaw. Hope he can get it back on track next year.

Man, looking back to the late 80's and early 90's when torn ACLs possibly meant the end of careers... I still remember with Vikings RB Terry Allen tore his ACL, and everyone wondered if he'd be able to play again, and came back the following season to rush for over 1200yrds, his success was almost on miracle level comeback because of the history of ending careers that ACL tears had at that point.

Now the injury is just considered unfortunate for a season, nothing more, completely routine otherwise, and coming back at relative form is no longer just a hope, but is absolutely expected.

NHLEs? I'm not sure what I'm looking at or how Lodnia is on this list. Call me a bit uninformed.
