Hawks won't have Wingles playing C, cause he is just not a C...likely case scenario is that Schmaltz plays C, if he does not then the hawks have JT, AA, Kero and Dauphin at C....not so good IMO.

likely something more like this.

saad-toews-panik
Hayden/Jurco-AA-Kane
Sharp-schmaltz-hartman
bouma-kero/dauphin-wingles

tough to say though..

Canes lines look about as correct as anybody could guess at this point, based mostly on last season.

However, I'd say Aho-Staal-Lindholm should definitely be regarded as the first line, Staal and Lindholm were 1 and 2 among forwards in ice time. Aho's TOI won't reflect that, but he didn't join that line until later in the season. Teuvo-Rask-Williams as the second line and Skinner-Ryan-Stempniak as the 3rd. Skinner will probably move from second line to third depending on who he has the best chemistry with at any given moment.

On the d-pairings, Slavin and Pesce are pretty clearly the first pairing and Hanifin-Faulk second, based on last year - however, I think we're likely to see a good bit of Slavin-Faulk as the 1st and Hanifin-Pesce as the 2nd as they try to balance out offensive and defensive guys. There will probably be situational mixing and matching though since Slavin/Pesce are near impossible to beat as a shutdown pair when you really need that say with a 1 goal lead.

For the Jets you're pretty close. I expect the 4th line will be Mathias Copp Dano and Petan and Tanev will be pressboxed or in the AHL.

The D pairings will be Morriessey Trouba, Kulikov Buff, Enstrom Myers

Morrisey and Trouba should definitely be listed as top pair.
I wouldn't be shocked if Laine started the year with Scheifele and somebody.

There's some competition in that bottom 6 and Connor's line could be more of a scoring line with Lowry taking over as 4C on shut down line that plays more minutes then our 4th lines have in the past. For this to happen Petan or Roslovic would REALLY have to force the teams hand to do it.

Poor Matty P will at some point be injured so Connor likely sees time in the top 6 and may not let it go.

For the Flames, I wouldn't pencil any rookies into the lineup just yet. I would say for the time being our forward lines should be made of the guys we finished with last year.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Versteeg - Bennett - Brouwer
Lazar - Stajan - F. Hamilton

For the Leafs Forwards look right if there isn't a trade (Kappy will start in the minors, Martin will play)

Leafs Gardiner - Zaitsev was the best pair they had last year and it will probably stay together

Jake Gardiner - Nikita Zaitsev
Morgan Rielly - Ron Hainsey
_______ - Connor Carrick

Blank is filled by Marchenko/Marincin/Dermott/Rosen/Borgman/Neilsen whoever wins it in training camp

I went through the rosters and I don't think the following players are pencilled in to their teams lineups:
Anders Bjork
Sean Kuraly
Evan Rodrigues
Viktor Antipin
Jordan Schroeder
Tyler Bertuzzi
Jayce Hawryluk
Jared McCann
Jakub Jerabek
John Quenneville
Michael McLeod
Nicklas Jensen
Travis Sanheim
Robert Hagg
Sam Morin
Cory Conacher
Riley Barber
Chandler Stephenson
Christian Djoos
Madison Bowey
Jaycob Megna
Chris Bigras
Andrei Mironov
Landon Ferraro
Nikolay Goldobin
Reid Boucher

I think all of these players will have to battle really hard to just make their team.

Otherwise, looking pretty good so far. All other players I think are highly likely to make their team and be in the opening night lineup. Always some surprises come training camp though.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Bjork - Krejci - Backes
Belesky - Spooner - Vatrano
Kuraly - Acciari - Nash
Schaller

Chara - Carlo
McAvoy - K. Miller
Krug - Mcquaid

Rask
Khudobin

It seems like a near certainty that the Bruins will Ice a rookie on Krejcis wing, whether it's Bjork that they made a priority to get under contract or if it's JFK who they allowed to burn a year off his ELC last year after one game. Also I think they will give Charlie someone with a little more footspeed than Chara for any mistakes he may make as he's not the same type of Defenseman Carlo is/was so there's more room for turnovers in his game
I think cehlarik should play with krejci

I think Conacher is in rn, in a 4th line role

I also see no issues with Schroeder, mironov, bigras, McCann, and sanheim

Wouldn't it be Brown guaranteed a spot instead. Conacher and Dumont got virtually identical contracts. I kind of see those two and Erne fighting for the last spot.

One of MacDonald or Manning could be in the AHL, if Sanheim, Morin and Hagg earn a spot on the Flyers opening night roster.

Neuvirth is better than Elliott.

Thanks for this. Won't make any adjustments though until I get some line-ups from everyone's fanbase.

For the Oilers I would have..

Maroon - McDavid - Nuge
Lucic - Draisaitl - Slepyshev
Jokinen - Strome - Puljujarvi
Caggiula - Letestu - Kassian

I think that makes the most sense. Nuge and Strome interchangeable.

Weal does not play RW.

Sanheim is not going to play with Provorov facing the toughest minutes and competition as a rookie.

The Devils forwards lines are close but Zacha is LW or C...definitely not RW. I think it will be lines below but you could also just swap Zacha and Quenneville in your current lineup. The Defense needs to be updated...Severson is def top pairing and Lovejoy is barely on the team right now

Taylor Hall - Travis Zajac - Kyle Palmieri
Pavel Zacha - Nico Hischier - Marcus Johansson
John Quenneville - Adam Henrique - Michael McLeod
Miles Wood - Brian Boyle - Stefan Noesen

Andy Greene - Damon Severson
John Moore - Steven Santini
Mirco Mueller - Ben Lovejoy

Cory Schneider
Keith Kinkaid

Is the pairing of Slavin and Pesce potentially the most underrated pairing in the NHL?... And a top pairing to boot

Just a small request from a guy interested in seeing suggested lineups from around the league: A lot of people know the names, but not nicknames from all the other teams. Would everyone not mind too much writing out the actual last names?

For the Yotes, I think Keller is almost a lock to start the year with them. I'd guess either Cousins, Crouse or maybe Duclair if he starts poorly.

A few things.
1. Thanks for making this thread. :)
2. Ducks logo changed in the past few years to this:
AnaheimDucksSmiley-1.png

3. Ryan Kesler won't start the season, so the best guess of starting lines is here, I think.
