Daniel Vladar knew what he wanted on his new Bruins mask

. He wanted to pay tribute to the city of Boston

, so the mask is transformed into a true Storyteller creation

. It is a tribute to The Freedom Trail in Boston. It is a 2.5-mile-long path through downtown Boston

, Massachusetts, that passes by 16 locations significant to the history of the United States

. Marked largely with bricks, it winds between Boston Common to the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown. Stops along the trail include simple explanatory ground markers, graveyards, notable churches and buildings

️, and a historic naval frigate. The design is created with sketch pen tech

✍ to catch the old school feeling, and on each sides you will find drawings of landmarks. A design which truly lives and breathes Boston. And for sure all the DaveArt Trademark Super FX

Today we have the honor to unleash the new Coyotes artwork for my friend Scott Wedgewood

. We were brainstorming together - what about create an Arizona design in a totally new way?

We looked at the famous wildlife of Arizona

. How about build the design on the awesome skin pattern of an Arizona Rattlesnake...

A design that lives and breathes the state of Arizona

️. I made some test drawings, it worked

. We also wanted the design to be pretty light. The plan worked, we caught the exact flow we wanted to catch

. I picked up my airbrush guns

and let them get to work. The design lives and breathes Arizona, and the closer you come

the more details you will discover, chapter by chapter in this Storyteller creation

It was extra special to create Malcolm Subban’s first Vegas mask. A #VegasStrong mask which pays tribute to the people and city of Vegas

. Malcolm and I discussed how to create the design. We came up with a plan, a clean and subtle design, built on #VegasStrong and the skyline of Vegas

. Everything created in total harmony with the Vegas uniforms. A Storyteller design to discover the closer you come

I really like the Pickard, Vladar and Subban masks. Wedgewood is not bad either. Appleby and Blackwood are typical dave Art stuff nobody likes.

Nobody rags on DaveArt like I do, but this mask is gorgeous.

When i first saw a closeup of this, i thought there was something vaguely Group of Seven-esque about it. Thought that'd be a cool thing for a Toronto team. But then, it's DaveArt, so nevermind. Probably just a random coincidence. sigh.
