In UVA's 61-49 victory over UNC yesterday, the Heels were held to 1 point in the last 7 minutes of play.....I grew up 45 minutes from Charlottesville, so I geographically became a UVA fan. Many, many years of college sports frustration with the occasional glorious run (UVA winning the NCAA baseball national championship most recently).

Over the holidays, I'd had a bit too much to drink and was rubbing the Wofford over UNC win in the face of a friend of one of my kids. One thing led to another, and I blurted out that UVA would beat UNC in the 1st game they played this season. We ended up betting a dinner at the restaurant of the winner's choice.

I watched that game. I have no idea why NC State makes things so hard on themselves, they should have won by 9 or so. Nevertheless that was genius by Keatts at the end there.
