You'd have the beginnings of a damned fine defence out of the guys Sweden is leaving at home - Lindholm, Klingberg, Larsson, Klefbom...

Fine with all but definitely wouldn't have had Krüger on my team. Would've taken Backlund or Berglund.

Ekholm earned his spot in the latter parts of the season, and he can also play any role of the defense so he had that going for himself.

Lehner also the correct goalie. Lundqvist will play everything anyway.

Why no Klingberg? Is it because they have enough offensive D?

Also, not surprised that Kruger made it over Backlund, I'd have made the same choice.

They didn't screw up but Kruger is not someone who should be on this team. We already have an abundance of PK'ers.

Was a bit worried they'd go with Berglund instead of Söderberg or an Oduya instead of Kling/Ekholm/Lindholm, happy they didn't.

Some pretty good players left out: Lindholm, Klingberg, Nyquist, Rask, Rakell etc..all these players would make Team Finland easy.

Sportbladet crew with Garpenlöv saying that they've used analytics quite a bit.

If their analytics told them that Lindholm isn't one of Sweden's best 7 defensemen, they're using the wrong analytics

Ekholm attending the WC (and playing well there) was probably the deciding factor. Ekholm & Lindholm are fairly similar in terms of style and quality. Kronwall however....

Yeah, Sweden is obviously stacked on the blue line and Ekholm deserved to make it but the Kronwall selection didn't make sense cause he's not on par with the other defensemen who made the team and is worse than Lindholm and Klingberg by a significant margin. Coaches do love their veterans though

Marcus Krüger is not physical. He has no skill set at this level. He is pure defense player.

Backlund, Berglund and Zibanejad would bring more to this team.
